EMPLOYERS

Cardinal Glass Industries has a clear vision: design and fabricate the most advanced residential glass for windows and doors in the industry.
The 50-year-old Minnesota-based company has grown to 5,500 employees at 27 manufacturing plants throughout the country. Cardinal's laminated glass plant in Ocala is one of only two laminated glass plants among its many product lines, and the only Cardinal location in the state.
It may seem transparently obvious that the right employees make all the difference; what's not so clear is how to find them. That's why Sonny Sagendorph, Cardinal LPG Ocala's human resource manager, uses Workforce Connection to collect and screen applications.
"We know how crazy it can be when word gets out that an employer is hiring. The steady stream of applicants through your front door could easily disrupt operations," Sagendorph said. "We avoid that by using Workforce Connection as the focal point for the collection process. Then, all we need to do is review the collected applications and schedule interviews at our convenience."
In recent weeks, Cardinal LG has hired glass handlers and maintenance technicians, with more hires in the pipeline.
"This process and the professionalism of the Workforce Connection employees makes our hiring process work smoothly," Sagendorph said. "Cardinal LG Ocala always uses the one-stop Workforce Connection."
To learn about Employer Services, available at no charge, please call 800-746-9950 or email the Business Development Team.
Please note: Mr. Sagendorph's name was misspelled in an earlier version of this bulletin. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
