Every client we see is unique but there is one commonality that runs throughout and that is a desire for simplicity. We live in a hugely complicated, ever changing world so this seems understandable. We strive to make simplicity a key deliverable in our client relationships but to get there we often must change how clients make financial decisions.

 

The financial services (products) field is designed to be complex, arcane and difficult to discern. That is where we come in. We say that there is a better way, a simpler way, a more transparent and consistent way. The sad truth is most of the financial products sold by brokers and others are structured to be virtually incomprehensible. These products often move investors further away from their goals and create unnecessary complications. Burton Malkiel has a good piece in the Wall Street Journal that is both simple and smart combined.

We reach beyond these traditionally product driven (versus client goals centered) structures to deliver objectivity, discipline and direction by way of a long term trusted advisory relationship. We integrate investments with lifetime goals based on resources (existing financial assets and savings) into a holistic framework and plan. This is simple by design so that ongoing decisions can be made clearly with the ultimate aims in mind. Ultimately, this creates a more consistent investment experience which then leads to an increased level of confidence about the future. We sometimes call this "rational confidence."
