Greetings, and welcome to my seasonal newsletter. I hope this letter finds you well and skiing lots of powder! That has been the program for me since the new year. Of course there has been a bunch of Avalanche courses, Backcountry Ski tours, slideshows, and other fun stuff between Berkeley, Tahoe, & Shasta as well. |
|
This winter I organized some Backcountry workshops
for industry professionals. The two workshops were
designed to provide avalanche awareness and
backcountry ski skills in the Tahoe area. "Safety and
Stoke" at an affordable price. I'm psyched to say they
worked out well and that they will be back again next
winter!

Although it is March, winter is still in full force out here in
California. I've got one more avalanche
course in Shasta with a few spots left. It is an AIARE
Level I. March 19-21. Contact me asap if you are
interested.
I'll also continue doing Backcountry Ski tours in the Tahoe area well into April & May. These backcountry ski days may include skills sessions, peak ascents, or just harvesting the stellar spring corn snow. Contact me directly or the North American Ski Training Center for details. |

In the Spring I'll
be guiding a bunch of ski mountaineering trips
for Shasta Mountain Guides. Conditions should be
great right thru June.
Consider my three day climb & ski of Mt. Shasta, May
14-16. This is a classic spring adventure that still has
spots available.
I'll also be guiding various ski descents in the High Sierra for California Alpine Guides. e-mail me for information about our April 16-18 ski mountaineering trip in the Sawtooth Range. It should be epic! |
|
In June (and possibly July) I'll be guiding for Alpine
Ascents International up on Mt. Rainier again. The
classic Disappointment Cleaver route is pretty
amazing. I'm always psyched to get up there and climb
that massive peak. The three day climb is often sold
out by January..... Consider getting on the wait list or
reserving your spot in the Fall for a spring ascent!

And finally, The Breast Cancer Fund is doing its
annual "Climb Against The Odds" in June on Mt.
Shasta. I'll help
guide that again this year and have decided to help
raise some funds for the cause. In the past I have
donated, and I will continue to do so. But this year
(and in
future years) I'll be asking for some help. This cause
hits home for me (and I imagine many of you). So,
consider pitching in. Click on this link and/or e-mail
me with questions.
