Social Media - Connecting with 'Friends' through Facebook
Social media. It's the buzzword for almost any industry these days, but what exactly does it mean and how can you tap into this monster concept to help your business succeed? Whole books are written on the topic so we are teasing with one free Internet tool you can easily use to help promote your name and business: Facebook. Facebook allows almost instant access to your "friends" and limits you to short bits about yourself. It's like a note you send whenever you want that reaches all of the people on your friends list. You can add photos, videos, links to blogs, Web sites and YouTube videos and more. You can field responses and comments from those receiving your posts. Constantly connecting with your friends' list translates into greater name recognition, immediate access to interested parties, the capacity to foster relationships and imparting information. Properly nursed, Facebook can boost your communication, which in turn can boost the trust you earn from clients, constituents and consumers.

Cressy Teaches Writing Skills to Probation Officers
John Cressy, a writer with Whisenhunt Communications
since
2001, also teaches writing skills to law enforcement personnel throughout the
state, mostly probation officers.
For probation officers, writing is not typically their field
of expertise, but it plays an extremely important role in their jobs. They must
write probation reports that are not only clear and concise, but are correctly
punctuated. Cressy's classes serve as refresher courses of English grammar -
correct use of apostrophes and commas, subject-verb agreement, capitalization
rules, active voice, etc.
Cressy has taught his classes in over 20 county probation
departments in California, including Ventura, Los Angeles, San Diego, San
Bernardino, Riverside, Fresno, San Francisco, Alameda and Sacramento counties. |
