Dear Partners:
2010 has arrived and we are all busy in the "work" of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education. In this issue, we have several exciting updates, and a laundry list of events for you to place on your calendar.
By now you should have received a copy of our 2009 Annual Review, and a request for you to self-report your status with our efforts on the STEM Scorecard. It is imperative that we receive the STEM Scorecard back from all partnering organizations so we can capture all the fine work you are doing to support our initiative. Please return this information to us as soon as possible. If you have not received this information, please contact our offices at 216-368-3212.
I also want to thank those that joined us for our Annual Holiday Gathering on December 3rd at Greater Cleveland Partnership. It was a wonderful way to start the Holiday Season, and to see all the progress made through our network. During our Holiday Gathering we shared the graphic look of our new website which will launch later this month. As you can imagine the launching of this new website is a lot of hard work, and will cause a few moments of inactivity on the current site. Please note the current site will be down February 4-February 6. Anyone visiting the website at www.mc2stemhub.org
during this time will receive an error message. Our friends at SCK promise to have us up and running again by February 6. Again look for a notice later this month when the new website officially launches!
I hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Sonya Pryor-Jones
Executive Director

| NSBE Convention in Toronto |
A caravan of college students, high school students, and professional engineers will be headed to Toronto, Canada for the 36th annual National Society of Black Engineers Convention on March 31st. Partners from Case Western Reserve University, and the NSBE Alumni Chapter joined forces to take a group of high school students on this trip. Students will enjoy the many convention events and speakers, and also compete in the high school level competitions. As NSBE Jr. members, these students have been meeting once each month at Case Western Reserve University with NSBE Alumni Chapter members and learning about the many fascinating opportunities in the engineering field.
Thanks to the efforts of the Corporate Relations Office at CWRU, and the generous contributions of the Dominion Foundation, these high school students will have an opportunity to be exposed to a professional convention in an international city, while testing out their STEM skills in the NSBE Jr. competitions. If you are interested in learning more about the convention, or are interested helping, call our office at 216-368-3212.
