Volunteers Needed for ChamberFest!
The Chamber is currently seeking volunteers for ChamberFest 2012. Volunteer are needed to staff our Chamber Information Booth on Friday and Saturday, October 19 & 20 in two hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Sign up today for a booth at ChamberFest 2012 on Friday & Saturday, October 19 & 20 at the Centre at Salisbury. Chamber Fest is a business-to-consumer showcase that allows chamber members to display their products and services to the tens of thousands of people that visit the mall each weekend. Booths will be displayed throughout the mall directly in the flow of the busy weekend traffic. Each booth will include a space of approximately 10 feet with a table and two chairs. Sign up before September 14th and save on your booth space. The fee for the two-day showcase is only $200, after September 14th the cost is $225. Chamber to Host Job Fair
Find your next employee at the 7th Annual Fall Job Fair, hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the One-Stop Job Market. This year's job fair will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Centre at Salisbury mall from 3:30 to 7:00 pm. Booths will be set-up throughout the main corridors. The event is open to any business seeking employees in the Lower Shore area. Booths are only $100 for a 10 ft. space. Again this year, the Resume Doctor will be on hand to offer advice and suggestions to applicants and evaluate their resumes. Chamber Flower Sale
The Beautification Committee of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce has begun its fall flower sale. This is the 25th year that the organization has held this sale to help provide funds to establish and maintain landscaped triangles and other projects in Salisbury. Winter pansies must be pre-ordered and later picked up at the Chamber of Commerce Business Center on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. The cost of an individual 3.5" potted pansy is $1.40 and a flat of 18 plants is $25.40 (tax included). This year we will also offer variety packs of bulbs! Tulips - 7/ $5.00; Daffodils - 10/$5.00. Salisbury Lions Club Hosts Casino Night at Black Diamond
The Salisbury Lions Club is hosting a No-Limit Texas Hold-Em Tournament on Friday, October 26th at Black Diamond Catering (next to Adam's Ribs Restaurant). Registration is at 5:00 pm, tournament begins at 6:00 pm. First place winner will receive $2500. Hors D'oeurves will be provided, and cash bar will be available. Seating is limited to 200. Hudson Family Fundraiser
Eddie Johnson has tickets for a fundraiser for the Hudson Family, the farm family being sued by the Water Keepers group. Funds raised will go their legal defense fund. They are $50.00 per person for Saturday, Oct 13, 2012 at Hooper's Crab House in West Ocean City from 12-4pm. 16th Annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic
Swing in to Ocean City for the 16th annual pink ribbon golf classic sponsored by the Eastern Shore Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association. This year's Pink Ribbon Golf Classic will be held at the Ocean City Golf Club in Berlin, Md. on Friday, October 19, 2012. As in past years, it is a women's only event to support the American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness and Research Programs. Since its inception, the Pink Ribbon Classic ten events has raised over $1,000,000.
The entry fee of $100 per player or $400 per team includes lunch, 18 holes of golf with a cart, dinner, an official tournament gift bag, great prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin contests, prizes for all division and more.
Registration begins at 11:00 A.M. with lunch, served at 11:30am. The tournament is a scramble format with a 12:00 noon shotgun start. Three divisions based on handicap and one fun non-competing division will play. The lowest handicap in a foursome determines each team's division. Handicaps will be verified according to your October 1st posting.
In addition to golf, hole sponsorships and dedication flags are available in honor or memory of those touched by Cancer.

Eastern Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's
The Alzheimer's Association invites the community to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Eastern Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's, Saturday, Oct. 27 (rain or shine), at the Salisbury/Wicomico Senior Center - 909 Progress Circle, Salisbury, MD 21804). Participants can choose to walk along a three-mile path or a one-mile path. Registration starts at 9 a.m., when participants can enjoy light refreshments live music, and entertainment for the whole family, including a children's play area and face painting.Participants are encouraged to register early as teams or individually. Admission is free, but those who raise at least $100 will receive a Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt. Tanger PinkSTYLE Campaign
From September 12 to October 25, 2012, the 19th Annual Tanger PinkSTYLE campaign will take place at the Tanger Outlet Center in Ocean City. As part of Tanger's fundraising efforts, shoppers will be able to purchase Pink Cards for a $1 donation each. Each Pink Card provides shoppers with a 25 percent discount on a single item at participating stores located at Tanger Outlets in Ocean City. Proceeds from Pink Card sales will be donated to the Eunice Q. Sorin Women's Diagnostic Center at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md., and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Pink Cards will be available for purchase at the Eunice Q. Sorin Women's Diagnostic Center, area businesses, select community events and at the Tanger Outlets in Ocean City. Get Ready, Get Set, Let's Vote
On Sunday, October 14 from Noon-4pm, there will be a voter preparedness class at the First Baptist Church at 528 Delaware Ave in the Family Life & Cultural Center. Questions like "Am I registered to vote," "How can I make changes to my current voter information" and questions about early voting will all be answered. Ward Museum- Glass Blowing Workshops
Starting on Friday, October 19, and running through December 8th, The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University, and the SU Glass Program will host a series of Hot Glass Workshops. The Ward Museum is proud to offer the opportunity for visitors to make their own glass art at the Salisbury University Hot Glass Facility.
Participants receive a short orientation to the technique of glass blowing, then work on their own glass piece, each workshop will focus on a new project. Choose the one that fits your schedule best: October 19- Glass Flower; November 2- Paperweight; November 16- Glass Float; December 8- Ornament ball. All workshops are from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., and cost $70 for museum members, $85 for non-members. EXCEPT the December 8 workshop, which will be a series of short, 1- hour sessions starting on the hour, every hour from 10 a.m. - noon, and from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., and cost only $25 per session for Members; and $30 per session for Non-Members.
