2012 Economic Forecast Schedule for January 19th
Hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Wor-Wic Community College, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Salisbury University's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business and the Small Business Development Center, and Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore. Experts from around the Eastern Shore will gather to analyze the current challenges facing our region, the nation and the global economy.

Wicomico Recreation Announces Community Yard Sale
Make room in your house and fill your wallet at Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism's Community Yard Sale. Tables and booths are available for this indoor mega-sale, slated for Saturday, January 7th from 7am to 12pm at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.
Tables are available at $15 for a 30"x72" size. Booths are also available at $40 for a 10' space with three tables. Set-up for those renting tables or booths will begin at 4am on Saturday morning. Reserve your table or booth at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office (500 Glen Ave. Salisbury, MD), online at www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org (online fee may apply) or by phone at 410-548-4911.
Those interested in shopping at the Shore's largest yard sale can do so for just $2 at the door. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Wicomico Recreation. |

Non-credit Spanish Courses for Beginners and Healthcare Professionals
Registration is now open for non-credit Spanish courses at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's Foreign Language Instructional Center, a computer lab which features specialized language learning technology.
An intensive, eight-day Spanish course for beginners will be held Jan. 9-12 and 17-20. The course fee is $249 per person and includes all materials. A one-day "Spanish for Healthcare Professionals" class is being offered Jan. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The class provides practical vocabulary and cultural understanding for those who work with Spanish-speaking clients in medical settings. The fee is $149 and includes materials.

Business Day in Annapolis on Thursday, January 19, 2012, will connect hundreds of business leaders with decision makers in Annapolis to promote a strong pro-business, pro-jobs agenda. This event, which will be held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel, beginning at 7:30 a.m., is an outstanding opportunity to:
- Network with hundreds of other Maryland business leaders.
- Learn about the impact federal budget cuts will have on Maryland from Congressman Christopher Van Hollen (D-Dist. 8).
- Preview the 2012 General Assembly session with the legislature's presiding officers and minority leaders.
- Promote the 2012 Business Agenda.

Community Foundation Co-Sponsors Annual Nonprofit Resource Day
In partnership with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Wor-Wic Community College,the annual Nonprofit Resource Day is Wednesday, January 18 at the Community Foundation Nonprofit Support Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is $30 and lunch is included.
The Day will feature three informative seminars that will focus on fundraising and networking to promote your organization. Area trainers Hank Lewis and H.G. Wilson will share their knowledge and expertise to enhance and engage new audiences. This day will have it all!
