Fall Job Fair - This Thursday!
Find your next employee at the 6th Annual Fall Job Fair, hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the One-Stop Job Market. This year's job fair will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Centre at Salisbury mall from 3:30 to 7:00 pm. Booths will be set-up throughout the main corridors. The event is open to any business seeking employees in the Lower Shore area. Booths are only $100 for a 10 ft. space. Tens of thousands of people visit the mall each day so this is a terrific opportunity to meet with many excellent potential employees. Again this year, the Resume Doctor will be on hand to offer advice and suggestions to applicants and evaluate their resumes.

New Member Reception
Are you a new member of the Chamber? Are you a new employee of a current Chamber member? Or are you a member that has been so busy running your business that you have not had time to find out what the Chamber can do for you? If you fit into any one of these three categories then we have the reception you should attend! Pansy & Bulb Sale
The Beautification Committee of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce has begun its fall flower sale. This is the 25th year that the organization has held this sale to help provide funds to establish and maintain landscaped triangles and other projects in Salisbury. Winter pansies and bulbs must be pre-ordered and later picked up at the Chamber of Commerce Business Center on Friday, October 21, 2011. The cost of an individual 3.5" potted pansy is $1.50 and a flat of 18 plants is $25.00. This year we will also offer variety packs of bulbs! Tulips - 7 / $5.00; Daffodils - 10 / $5.00. Life Crisis Center Recognizes Key Community Members
The public is invited to attend an awards dinner on October 27th hosted by the Life Crisis Center. The 2011 awardees are being recognized for their support of the safe house shelter and for their assistance to victims of domestic violence. The annual awards ceremony is held in October honoring Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The dinner will recognize the Salisbury Police Department, Nancy Nyquist of Nancy N., Melanie Gladden of Bella Grace, the Uprising Church, Tamera Watts and LCC's Victim Advocates. The cost of the dinner is $30 per person or $250 for a table of 8 and includes a three course meal. The dinner will be held at the Georgia House Restaurant from 6:00pm till 8:30pm. Reservations are required and can be made online at www.LifeCrisisCenter.org or by calling 410.749.0632. Seating is limited so early reservations are encouraged. |

Touch the Sea Exhibit
Touch the Sea at the Delmarva Discovery Center! Saturday November 12th from 10 to 4! Join marine biologist, Andrew Wilson and the aquatic stars of Under the Sea for live animal programs at the Delmarva Discovery Center at 1 pm and 3 pm. Learn about our fascinating underwater world in interactive presentations. Meet a baby shark, as well as crabs, starfish and pufferfish!, Watch a fish feeding in the DDC's 6,000 gallon aquarium at 2 PM, and talk to local experts at our touch tank from 12 PM to 4 PM. Kid's crafts will take place from 11AM to 1 PM. Chat with local children's author and artists and view their work. See exciting fossils of prehistoric Delmarva aquatic life. There is something for everyone at the DDC! |
