SACC Presents Maryland Comptroller, Peter Franchot
The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is proudly hosting the Maryland Comptroller, Peter Franchot on Tuesday, June 28 at noon at Chef Fred's Chesapeake Steakhouse (soon to be Georgia House). The membership is invited to attend this luncheon and speech.
Comptroller Franchot will provide an update on the financial situation in Maryland's government for the fiscal year and expectations in the coming year. He will also discuss the likely issues in the October General Assembly Special Session. A question and answer session will be included. Cost of lunch is $15. Tax Credits Available for Donations to Habitat
Gains Hawkins, President of the Board of Directors of Wicomico Habitat, has announced that Community Investment Tax Credits were available for donations of $500 or more to support Habitat's efforts to revitalize the East Church Street neighborhood.
The Community Investment Tax Credit program provides an incentive for Maryland businesses as well as individuals to increase their charitable giving. For every donation of at least $500, which qualifies as a charitable contribution on both Maryland and Federal returns, individuals or businesses receive their normal charitable deduction on both Federal and State taxes and an additional credit of 50% of the donation on their Maryland tax return. Grand Opening of DEF's Pocomoke City Office
The public is invited to join the board of directors and staff of the Delmarva Education Foundation (DEF) in celebrating the opening of its branch office in Pocomoke City on Thursday, June 30, from 1-3 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at the office located at 1731 Broad Street. Refreshments and door prizes will be available. DEF's Pocomoke City office is located in the industrial park within the suite of offices occupied by the Mid-Atlantic Institute for Space and Technology (MIST). Registration Open for Wolverines Youth Wrestling Camp
Summer Camp to Take Place July 18-22
The Wicomico Wolverines Youth Wrestling program will offer an evening wrestling camp July 18-22. Camp sessions will be held from 6 - 8pm at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and will be led by Wolverines head coach John Horwat and coaches Alan Hogg and Dan Catron. The camp is open to children in grades 1 through 8 and will focus on fundamental wrestling skills, sportsmanship, competition and pure enjoyment of the sport.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Eastern Shore Golf Classic
Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Maryland Mentoring Partnership is excited to announce our Eastern Shore Golf Classic on Monday, July 11, 2011 presented by Delmarva Power. It will be held at the beautiful River Marsh Golf Club, located at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge. All golfers are invited to tee off on one of the Hyatt's artistic masterpieces. They will be able to participate in a complete program of special events, 18 holes of golf and riding cart, range balls, a box lunch, a gift for each player, an exciting awards reception, putting contest, and the Longest Drive and Closest-to-the Pin Challenges. Individual golfers may register for a fee of $200 and teams of four players may register for a fee of $800. Other sponsorship opportunities are also available.
