First of all, I would like to congratulate the new incoming Board of Directors for 2010-2011. They are working hard to bring new, exciting venues, sponsors and educational opportunities for our members. You will find all the latest ISES news and information on our monthly meetings and spotlight new and existing members in our newsletters. If you would like to be "The Spotlight", please contact me. I inherit the position of VP of Communications with much honor from our former VP of Communications and our new President. Vanessa Goyanes. Vanessa is energetic, full of new ideas and lots of enthusiasm and I look forward to serving her as a member of the Board. I would also like to thank our past President, Dr. Aimee Zadak, for all her support, encouragement and leadership she provided this organization these past two years. Faced with a very difficult personal issue, Aimee never lost sight or the focus for ISES. She is an amazing individual and leader and she will always be available for advice, help and friendship. Please feel free to contact me with news and updates at TopHatParties@aol.com or call me at 954-578-5500. Entertainingly yours, Sandra Hermens VP of Communications Board of 2010-2011 |

As of this month, the baton has been passed from Aimee to me, and I am very honored and excited about being your new President. I am looking forward to working with my fantastic board of directors and each and every one of our members to make this a successful chapter!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or suggestions. Without your involvement, we cannot be a strong chapter. I urge you to get involved on a committee, help bring in new members, and spread the word about ISES.
We are not having a meeting in August due to Event World in Baltimore, Maryland. We are working on an exciting new twist for the September meeting. Please contact VP of Programs, Adam Klein, if you are interested in sponsoring.
I know I have expressed my sincere thanks to Michael Rohrs, Victoria DeSilvio, and all the sponsors of the July meeting, but I cannot get over what a fantastic installation we had this year! If you missed it, read all the details below and make sure to check out the amazing photos taken by Jay Guttveg of Creative Focus.
Eventfully,
Vanessa Goyanes

The ISES Installation was a True Transformation
This year's installation of the 2010-2011 ISES board of directors was an over-the-top, drag-alicious event! Incoming President-Elect Victoria DeSilvio and director Michael Rohrs worked with a great team of sponsors to produce one of the best events in chapter history!
The Manor, a hip hot spot in Wilton Manors, provided the perfect location with its multi-functional rooms. Cocktails began in the upstairs, outdoor lounge complete with plush banquettes, crystal chandeliers, and misters to keep everyone cool! Chef of Distinction passed salmon croquettes with a chipotle dipping sauce; mango seafood ceviche; and cheese and pear pasta purses with a sweet Champagne glaze.
Attendees were then taken into the main portion of the venue: a bi-level dining/dancing space designed to look like the main salon of an opulent castle with a modern twist. The area was transformed with pops of color in Over the Top's linen and through moving lights and projections provided by Uplyte, who took advantage of the tall ceiling by pin-spotting the tables--a combination of hi boys, royal tables, and rounds with either clear chairs or white leather seating by Room Service, an AFR Company. Petals Panache's centerpieces were modern and glamorous at the same time thanks to white geometric vases topped with a bouquet of white feathers.
Before dinner, outgoing President Aimee Zadak inducted Vanessa Goyanes as the new chapter President, who in turn called up the new board to be installed. Those not attendance still had the opportunity to watch the entire event from their computer, thanks to Damon Russell of Complete Media Event who provided live video streaming on the internet.
After the brief ceremony, it was time for dinner and a show! As guests enjoyed a Caprese salad with Mesculin greens in a parmesan tuille with pesto and balsamic reduction, an aerialist ascended a long piece of fabric and wowed everyone with her twists, turns, and drops. An entrée of chicken stuffed with smoked sausage on herb polenta with roasted beet circles and a red pepper sauce followed.
As entrees were cleared, the main entertainment hit the stage, which featured Soul Train-inspired décor. Sharde Ross (2010-'11 Winner, Miss South Florida Illusion Classic) took over with her bevy of bell-bottomed boys in a disco revue. Vanessa "Dancing Queen" Goyanes even made a cameo appearance during the special performance which ended with a blast of confetti that showered the crowd.
The momentum continued in yet another location of the club-this time it was a first level outdoor lounge that was accented with chic white draping from Design Elements. Aroma Espresso provided fantastic coffee concoctions that paired perfectly with passed desserts of chocolate pot de crème and raspberry and cream panacotta plus decadent mini cupcakes from Nancy's Cakes.
The dessert lounge was a sweet ending to the evening, which was the perfect start for the new board of directors!
Thank you to all the sponsors for yet another fantastic event!
