Membership, Madness, and SuccessThe key to every business person's success is strategic planning and a lot of MADNESS!! As business owners and event professionals, we are well awareof the creative thinking that goes into every event. We are continuously going beyond the call of duty to provide a service that is simply unforgettable. This strategy is what makes us successful. ISES is well aware of that and created this wonderful membership package.
This month, ISES launches their membership drive, which, without a doubt is something to rave about. As a member you are given 14 months for the price of 12. This is one component to our business that we must include in our strategy for growing our business!

Judith Able, Chef of Distinction
Tell us about your company/your role in the company The mission of Chef of Distinction is to build a long lasting growth oriented company focused on positive partnerships with clients, venues, staff, owners, our vendors, and the community. Our main goals are to succeed as a team based business that produces and serves a high quality product with a commitment to excellence in service, planning, and food quality with an unwavering code of business ethics and conduct.
I am the Executive Chef/Owner which means that I create the menus, stand in the heat of the kitchen, I also play a part in the front of the house by coordinating the décor and being the liaison between the front and the back of the house to facilitate a smooth professional flow of service. My duty is to make sure that my client's expectations are exceeded-and I do whatever it takes to achieve that! How long have you been in the industry? I would have to say all my life. As a kid I would hold concerts on my porch and charge the neighborhood kids an admission fee. In high school I was known
as the "party planner". My first job out of high school was in a restaurant. I have bachelor's degree from Johnson & Wales both
in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. My life and career as always led me down the path of the event and catering industry.
What are your professional and personal goals? My professional goal is to build my company up to being South Florida's [and beyond] high end catering company with a great professional staff where excellent service is their forté. My personal goal is to travel the world learning about other cultures
and their influence on food/wine.
Why did you join ISES and what do you hope to get out of it in the coming months?
I joined ISES because I wanted to be among other event professionals that have high standards and the same goals as I do, which is to provide excellent, uncompromising service to their clients. I hope to build long lasting relationships. ISES has [in my opinion] world class event specialists with years of experience,
and I want to learn as much as I can from them. I would also like to build my business and client list with the help of this organization.

ISES Gambles on Seminole Casino Coconut Creek for a Great Event! On April 13th, more than 65 members - predominantly from the South Florida South Florida/Caribbean Chapter, but also some visiting from neighboring chapters attended the monthly meeting at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
Doors opened at 6pm and for the next hour, guests mingled in a VIP area in the Nectar Lounge, nibbling on passed hors d'oeuvres and sipping their drink of choice. As if great conversation and networking were not enough, attendees were thrilled by a performance by Marilyn Monroe-or the industry's next best thing: Camille Terry as the famed beauty. She took no prisoners as she pulled Greg Zalkin (of Room Service, an AFR Company) on stage to complete her act.
Then, from 7-9 pm, everyone was escorted to the Fresh Harvest Restaurant After Glow & Vendor Area, where a lovely private dinner area awaited them. Elegant Parties draped the area using black and white fabric for a welcome alternative to basic drape. Over the Top supplied brand new linens to dress high boy tables; Premier Party Rentals created an up lit acrylic stage, which was the perfect place to debut its new line of lit bars, hi boys, and furniture. Tropical Elegance added even more style with bright yellow floral centerpieces in slick black vases.
Guests enjoyed the bountiful buffet, indulging in everything from salad to steak with all the trimmings! A flat panel screen and subtle up lighting by Damon Russell of Complete Music and Lighting completed the ambiance.
As the event came to a close, some of the attendees headed to the slots and poker tables to try their luck!
