Well, 2010 is here and it is full speed ahead for many of us! The new year has already taken me to a new destination: New Orleans. I, along with fellow members Mark Grassini of Temporary Tropics and LTS Events' Victoria DeSilvio, had the opportunity to attend the ISES Leadership conference.
Vanessa We met with ISES members from across the country and beyond including Australia and London! This is why it's called the International Special Events Society, after all. There are even new chapters in formation in Trinidad & Tobago and Hong Kong plus there are talks of expanding into the Middle East! Imagine the possibilities!
It was wonderful to see how the other chapters deal with the same everyday challenges we do in South Florida but most importantly, I realized something: although some chapters may have more or less members than we do or host more or less meeting than we do---we are all a part of ISES because we want to meet, learn from, and work with individuals who share our same ideals. It is the reason people join and stay involved.
I hope all of you have had an equally positive and inspirational start to the new year and hope 2010 is the year you take your life, company, and membership to the next level!!

Eventfully,
Vanessa Goyanes, Florida Event Decor

PresletterPresident's Letter

Hooray for 2010!!  The general consensus seemed to be that everyone was waiting for 2010.  Now it's here and it seems business is booming for many of our ISES members.

Networking has been more powerful than ever.

Premier Events Staffing is diligently working with other ISES members for a huge event in March and board member Michael Rohrs received a call from an ISES member in London!

This is just one example of the many conversations I have had with ISES members.  Whether you get a new client or you call a member for advice, ISES is a great opportunity to grow your business.

So, one more time...Hooray for 2010 AND hooray for ISES...the two together will be simply AMAZING!!!

Cheers to the New Year,
Dr. Aimee Zadak

What sets you apart from the rest?
With over five decades of collective and specialized fields of expertise, our team has an extensive background in the entertainment, design, hospitality, corporate, and production arenas. We are consistently committed to making sure our clients are entirely taken care of through our abilities to become an extension of their vision.  Our bottom line never gets in the way of our willingness to give our all to clients.

What are your professional and personal goals?
Our goal as a company is to produce unforgettable events for clients around the world. We also want to support our community by being leaders within our industry.  As long-time event producers, we have a strong foundation of success that will carry us through most anything, but as a new company we have many things to learn!
My personal goal is to continue to volunteer for the several charities I have been involved in over the past several years, I find it to be so rewarding.

How long have you been a member?
Three years

Why did you join ISES?
I moved to South Florida three years ago. The first industry event I attended was an ISES meeting. After a year as a member, I was honored to serve on the board as VP of Programs and Education, and currently serve as VP of Membership. I am thrilled to be part of a professional organization like ISES, with members that are dedicated to their profession and willing to seek and share their knowledge in this industry.
What is your favorite part of ISES? I just attended the ISES Leadership conference and The Special Event in New Orleans and was proud that our chapter was represented by four of our ISES members (two speaking and two exhibiting). Attending the conference gives you the opportunity to increase your network base and attended education classes to enhance you personally as well as the growth of your company.

What advice do you have for new members?
Get involved!  Taking on a responsibility as a board member not only lends to your credibility but also puts you in the spotlight. Professional networking is a great tool when you least expect it. The relationships you sow today can yield your success for the future.
