  It seems as if the holiday season has passed us by faster than ever this year! I am keeping this newsletter short and sweet...and is that something we all need this season?
On behalf of our chapter, I wish you a wonderful holiday season, no matter how--or what--you celebrate!We are looking forward to a fabulous new year with our foundation of great members and hopefully some new faces too.

Reflecting on 2009..
The season is coming to an end and we are all busy making our clients' events just right. It's been a tough year for some and a magnificent one for others.
As event designers, suppliers, and planners, we have been able to create the most memorable events for our clients. Many seamless to them. Some a little chaotic to us. We've had sleepless nights in the summer hoping that it will be a busy season and we've taken a deep breath when the phone began to ring.
I wish that you take a moment to yourself and reflect on this year's events, whether professional or personal. Take a deep breath of relief or of amazement and then smile.

New Venue Available for Events |
Kirkland Event & Destination Services is excited to announce the opening of its new venue and private home known as Little Palms.
It is located on the Intracoastal waterways of Lake Worth and has officially opened its doors this month to host corporate and social events. The unique property was built in the 1960's in traditional Old Florida style. The 4,000-square-foot home sits on the widest area of the Intracoastal with over one hundred palm trees on its grounds. The home filled with unique Art Deco décor and furniture the owner collected over years of traveling.
The venue lends itself nicely in favor of Latin-, Polynesian- or Tommy Bahama-themed events. Planners can utilize the pool and patio deck for a cocktail reception, while the lawn is the ideal setting for a seated dinner that can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Have you seen a change in entertainment trends within the past year?
Buyers are looking for high impact with decreased budgets. We have to get creative. Acoustic Bands, DJ/Band Hybrids (where there are less musicians with an equally big sound) are becoming more popular.
What advice do you have for clients looking to book entertainment?
From the very first contact, it's always best to tell us your expectations and your budget range. If you don't know, that's okay, we can help but by honestly saying you don't know--that's a start.
Most memorable event moment?
One of our bands, CTOSoho, was invited to perform at a wedding in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at The Four Season's Hotel. The wedding was taped and still airs on the Style Network's show, "Married Away".
Tomassetti was the past-president of the ISES New York chapter is currently a member of the South Florida chapters of ISES and and NACE.
