April 2012

Dear Friends of ECPC:

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our good friend and colleague, Barbara Trikonis, who died on April 2, 2012. Barbara was a valued member of ECPC, serving as a parenting group leader since the early 1990's. She touched many lives; her co-workers, the parents and children in her groups, and the interns that she helped train. She will be missed dearly.

We at ECPC have created a memorial fund to honor Barbara Trikonis.

If you would like to make a contribution, please mail your contribution to:

ECPC -  1440 Harvard St., Santa Monica, CA 90404.  ECPC will send a card to the Family of Barbara Trikonis indicating that a donation was made in her honor. ECPC will send donors letters of acknowledgment of their gift as a tax deductible donation.

It is with great pleasure and a sense of excitement that I began my new position as the Interim Executive Director of ECPC on April 2.  I was absolutely thrilled to be selected to lead this remarkable and life changing organization to new heights.  I am passionate about the mission of ECPC, and I very much appreciate the organization's rich history of success in the community.

Over the past 30 years I have had the privilege of working as an Executive Director for a variety of agencies that serve families and children in need.  I am so pleased to be able to utilize my knowledge and experience to help strengthen ECPC. My vision is to expand ECPC to reach many more parents so they can provide their children with healthy environments in which to grow and develop.

I want to thank everyone I have met for being so warm and welcoming.  I am impressed with the commitment and dedication of the many professionals who have devoted so many years to enhancing the lives of parents and children.  I look forward to working together with all of you in the future.
My immediate priorities include:  development of strategies to ensure long term financial security; Board development; expansion of the pool of group leaders and other professional volunteer staff; to strengthen and grow collaborations with other community agencies and to raise the visibility of ECPC in the community.

I want to thank everyone I have met for being so warm and welcoming.  I am impressed with the commitment and dedication of the many professionals who have devoted so many years to enhancing the lives of parents and children.  I look forward to working together with all of you in the future.
