Bedford's Habitat for Humanity team
launches an old-fashioned fundraiser

Quilting Bee outcome
to be raffled on July 31.

More than thirty people working with Lee Vorderer, Eleanor Merz and Mary Flatley gathered in the Common Room of First Parish in late winter/early spring to create a queen-sized patchwork quilt that will be raffled to benefit the Habitat house currently under construction on North Road.

Each square in the Log Cabin pattern quilt was designed and made individually; all squares share three fabrics while the rest of the fabrics in each square were chosen by the square's maker.  The squares were assembled into strips, with the strips then sewn together to create the quilt top.  Other quilters made the four borders and attached them to the quilt.  The quilt's main color is dark red, with a wide range of other fabrics bringing many other colors to the palette.

If you'd like to purchase raffle tickets for the Habitat for Humanity quilt, please contact Lee Vorderer at 781-275-7994.

To order tickets by mail, send a check payable to First Parish Bedford to the church, 75 The Great Road, Bedford, MA , with "Habitat" on the memo line and "Quilt" on the envelope. Include your name, address and telephone number;  Habitat volunteers will fill out your tickets, enter them into the raffle, and then mail your ticket stubs back to you.

Tickets are $3 each or two for $5. The drawing will be held at First Parish on July 31; the winner does not need to be present to win.
