Performer Scott Alarik is the quintessential folk musician. Why? partly due to his intimate knowledge of the music. Since 1986 Scott has been the primary folk journalist for the Boston Globe, a frequent contributor to "Sing Out!" and is the author of the highly acclaimed book "Deep Community." Pete Seeger calls Alarik one of the best writers in America," and Dar Williams says he is "the finest folk writer in the country."

But Scott's role in the folk scene far surpasses  his ability to write about it: he is also a singer/songwriter with three albums to his credit. Scott cut his performance teeth with regular spots on "The Prairie Home Companion" and has honed his expertise since then!  You will love his cool humor, clever writing, gentle depictions of history and most of all his deep calm voice.

Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to see and hear live music in the comfort of our living room.

You'll chat with Scott and others who enjoy and support the arts while devouring delicious munchies and supporting BCA as well as a yet-to-be-determined young Bedford artist.
