Should I upgrade to Windows 7?
|
Windows 7 is due to be released on October 22. Any computer running XP or Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.
If you are running Windows Vista, buy an upgrade copy of Windows 7 and install it on your computer. Be sure to backup your data first, just to be safe.
The majority of Windows XP computers should continue to run XP until you are ready to get a new computer. Upgrading to Windows 7 from XP is more cumbersome than upgrading from Vista. You must do a "clean install" of Windows which means wiping out all your data and applications, installing Windows 7 and then reinstalling all your data and applications. Contact us for help with this upgrade.
Microsoft has provided an upgrade advisor tool here which will tell you if your computer is ready to run Windows 7. |
