A Pair and a Full House
Chet Koenig of Avison Young is truly a busy man.
In an apparent effort to lay claim to "World's Fastest Deal," Avison Young Principal Chet Koenig recently showed 80,000 square feet at 6550 Jimmy Carter Boulevard only to have the tenant take occupancy four days later. Represented by Bill Kee and Jeff Henson of CB Richard Ellis, the hastily-moved tenant is C&L Logistics, a third-party logistics provider for multiple clients. Koenig represented the owner, ING Clarion.
Not to be outdone by himself, Koenig closed on 42,000 square feet just down the street at 6580 Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Payless Décor, a seller of window furnishings, accepted the space "as is" thanks to Avison Young's already-in-progress removing of the previous tenant's office and showroom space. Payless Décor was represented by Nick Faber, Darren Ross and Dave Watson of Grubb & Ellis, while Koenig represented ownership.
Jesse Harty of ING Clarion, Clay Witherspoon of Lane Witherspoon & Carswell, Todd Blalock of Avison Young, Steve Dils of Avison Young and Scott Polinski of Jones Lang LaSalle. Deals like that call for a celebration, and what better way to celebrate than a trip to Cabin Bluff in Sea Island. The annual four-day excursion is a way for Avison Young to thank tenant-rep brokers for their hard work and relationship building over the past year. The 30 deal-makers enjoyed a relaxing trip filled with quail and boar hunting, boating and of course golf. But while the rest of the gang was hitting the links in the traditional sense, Avison Young's own PGA-elite Bruce Logue inadvertently decided to try his hand at fishing for balls instead. |

Get in the (Former) Zone
Jamie Hargather and Joseph Rogers of Wilson Hull & Neal.
Wilson Hull & Neal's Joseph Rogers and Jamie Hargather scored a slam dunk of a 34,000 square foot listing with the former ESPN Zone space at 3030 Peachtree Road in Buckhead. The building is owned by a partnership that is managed by Peter Blum and has been closed for almost two years.
Thanks to a state-of-the-art kitchen and 220 free parking spaces, targeted tenants include a single restaurant or combination of restaurants, high-end retailer or special-use event space. "With the announcement of the Streets of Buckhead project moving forward, it's an exciting opportunity for a tenant to take advantage of the momentum in the market," said Rogers. |
