When you're a Realtor in a town that has a neighborhood named after your family, you'd better know what you're doing. Good thing Bonneau Ansley does, indeed, know the lay of the land when it comes to Atlanta's residential market, especially at the higher end.
Ansley's expertise isn't limited to metro Atlanta, though. For more than a decade, he's been involved with coastal residential development and the construction of more than 70 luxury homes along the Georgia and South Carolina coasts, which are again showing signs of life. The Ansley Companies' coastal construction totaled $17 million in 2010, compared with nil in 2008 and 2009.
Back in Atlanta, Ansley, who hangs his shingle with Harry Norman Realtors, is working to close out sales of Regents Park, a luxury townhome development at 2440 Peachtree Road near Peachtree Battle that has five remaining properties in the $1.7 to $2.5 million range. Ansley's efforts at Regents Park helped him earn the distinction of top producer, city-wide from the Atlanta Board of Realtors in 2009.
While the Atlanta residential market still has its share of turbulence, there are plenty of buyers, Ansley said. Sellers just have to be aware of market realities.
"They have to look at the big picture," Ansley said. "If they're looking to take a step up, they'll buy at a favorable price that makes up for any loss of value in their previous home."
