Colliers' Cottle and Cavill
Hit the LinksHeritage Golf Links in Tucker.
Colliers' Colin Cavill and
Bob Cottle have figured out a novel way to spend a little more time
at the golf club and get paid for it - sell it. Cavill and Cottle
represent Textron Financial Corp. in its efforts to sell the Heritage
Golf Links in Tucker. The local duo is working with Colliers' peers
around the world to market the golf course internationally.
Since taking the Heritage back,
Textron has hired Affiniti Golf Partners of Alpharetta to manage the
course, improving operations and rounds per month in an effort to attract
not only more daily fee users but more corporate outings and other events,
Cavill said. Built in 1996, the 205-acre, 27-hole course is on Britt
Road just outside Interstate 285, and has a lighted driving range, putting
green and instructional facilities.
"We think this is an
opportunity for someone who wants to resurrect a great piece of real
estate that happens to have a golf course on it," Cavill said. "The
new owner can buy a facility that's on an upwards revenue swing at
a substantial discount to replacement cost."

Pistol Packin' MamasRobyn Workman Marzullo (left) and Cara Workman (right) at Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range.
Sisters Cara Workman and Robyn Workman Marzullo probably aren't the first thing you think of when you think "gun enthusiast," and that may be the key to success for Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range.
The range opens August 1 at 8040 Roswell Road and is the culmination of a year's planning and work involving Cara and Robyn, their father, Howard Workman, and business partners Ronn Brown and Ken Kelmer. The Workmans, whose Workman & Co. owns, leases and manages approximately 1 million square feet of retail and office space, combine their real estate and retail expertise with Brown and Kelmer's gun-range and law enforcement experience.
Sandy Springs Gun Club will feature three ranges using state-of-the-art Meggitt Training Systems, a club room for members - like a Delta Airlines Crown Room but without the bar - a training and simulation room, firearm rentals and a retail area. Of course, safety is paramount, and the ranges include Level-8 bulletproof glass, walls with interior steel plates and ranges backed with 75 tons of rubber followed by three cement walls. Each range is also served by a ventilation system that reduces lead dust and other particulates that come with shooting. Cara and Robyn's preliminary researched found that metro Atlanta, and Sandy Springs in particular, lacked a gun club and shooting range that was as welcoming to a novice as an expert shooter. It's a place where the beginner can go and learn about firearms and safety without feeling intimidated, and it's just as welcoming to law enforcement and other seasoned shooters. The club already has four events on its books based on initial word of mouth, and every Thursday night is Ladies Night. "We realized after looking around that there was a need for a place that serves all kinds of people and not just enthusiasts who aren't that concerned with the surrounding environment," Robyn Workman Marzullo said. "We're looking forward to opening not just because of the time and energy we've put into it but so we can come to the gun club ourselves," Cara Workman said.

Happy Birthday to UsRooster celebrating the one-year mark with a few of his favorite chicks last Thursday.
From a fledgling
newborn chick to cock of the walk, what a difference a year makes.
Since Real Estate Rooster began a year ago, we feel we've proven two things. One, there's a hunger
for a positive look at Atlanta commercial real estate. Two,
we know how
to have a good time, and so do you, or more than 730 of you. That's how
many of you joined us for last Thursday's Rooster First Anniversary
Party at
Tavern 99 in Buckhead. We're pretty
happy about year one, but expect bigger and better things in year two and
beyond. Check out our special edition tomorrow, which will be packed full of all the event photos!
