The Inside Scoop on the People & Places that Shape Atlanta Real Estate
Buckhead's Sovereign Ruler
Sovereign
A familiar look at high-rise 3344 Peachtree Road in Buckhead.

Regent Partners shared its excitement over Sovereign's super-successful leasing achievements with the Rooster the other day.  Regent has leased close to 90-percent of its commercial real estate space at its luxury high-rise in Buckhead, and the success comes at a time when Buckhead faces historically high class A office vacancy rates.

With more than 500,000 square feet and 50 stories, the mixed-used tower on Peachtree Road in Atlanta's Buckhead district recently welcomed tenants Asset Preservation Advisors, Crescent Wealth Management and the Law Firm of Weinberg, Wheeler, Hudgins, Gunn, & Dial. Together, these tenants represent more than 80,000 square feet of new occupancy.  This follows the very successful November opening of Bistro Niko, Buckhead Life Groups' newest restaurant, located on Peachtree Road in the building's retail area.

"We are extremely pleased that we are continuing to experience such strong success on both our commercial and residential sides," said Regent Partners Principal, David Tennery. "When you look at the current realities of the overall Atlanta real estate market, we are truly blessed to be in the position we are in. We worked hard and took considerable risks in order to deliver a project that could make a long-term difference in the community and it would appear that the strategy, combined with significant determination have indeed been well received by the market."

Wells Deserved
Leo Wells
Leo Wells of Wells Real Estate Fund was clearly excited about the honorable and noteworthy induction.

Leo Wells, President and Founder of Wells Real Estate Funds, was honored last Thursday by the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council. The REIAC and Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business were pleased to induct Wells into the Real Estate Hall of Distinction at the fifth annual Hall of Distinction presentation.

The Hall of Distinction award was conceived in 2005 to recognize the people and commercial real estate projects that have made the most dramatic impact on Metro Atlanta. The presentation at the Westin Buckhead was heavily attended, but the Rooster was able to catch and congratulate Mr. Wells on his way out.

A Merry AmeriPark
Ameripark Valet Promotion
Richard Waynick, an AmeriPark valet, parks a car at Lenox Square during the Holiday Valet program that benefits the Simon Youth Foundation.

AmeriPark has teamed up with Simon Property Group for a holiday valet promotion program benefiting Simon Youth Foundation.  AmeriPark is a full-service parking company that provides national management and valet services.

The promotion is going on now at Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza and Mall of Georgia, all major Atlanta-area malls owned by Simon.  When a valet ticket is purchased at any of these locations, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Simon Youth Foundation.  Valet customers in turn receive a coupon for free valet parking on a future visit and a coupon for free food from a mall retailer.

"This holiday promotion benefits everyone.  Our customers get free food and at-risk youth are given new opportunities,"  said Chip Patterson, CEO of Atlanta-based AmeriPark.  "The program has been a great success in the first three weeks, which means more youths are benefiting,  and AmeriPark's customers are getting something extra, too."

And the Rooster has Crashed!
HMLC Holiday Party
Left to right:  Tom Flanigan of ING Clarion Partners, Laura Thigpen of Hodges Management and Leasing Company and Kris Arviso of ING Clarion Partners take a gamble.  Kris, we hope you folded (nice strategy).

The Rooster is partied out for 2009!  We closed out the decade partying with the hottest groups and heaviest hitters in real estate.  We caught ING Clarion Partners and Hodges Management and Leasing Company gambling on future deals at Maggiano's in Buckhead last Friday night!

Atlanta Bar Association
Left to right:  Ricky Novak of Strategic 1031 Exchange Advisors, Lisa Novak, Jed Beardsley of Baker Donelson and Michael Bull of Bull Realty.

We also joined Atlanta's top attorneys from the Atlanta Bar Association for a holiday social at Aja and a crazy group from Young Council of REALTORs throwing down at Eclipse di Luna last week.  One thing we can say about our beloved Atlanta real estate professionals;  they know how to bring in the holiday season!

YCR Holiday Social

The Rooster extends a special thanks to everyone for all the invitations and warm welcomes to your holiday parties this year.
We were invited to more than 20 happy hours, holiday parties and chapter socials this month alone.  While we hate that we couldn't make them all, we had a blast at most!  We sure had fun celebrating with you guys!
