The Inside Scoop on the People & Places that Shape Atlanta Real Estate
The Godfather Speaks
Bruce Wilson
The famous Bruce Wilson of Wilson, Hull & Neal

The Rooster popped in to visit the legendary Bruce Wilson at the Wilson, Hull & Neal office last week to get the godfather of real estate's view of the Atlanta market.

At 76 years old and with more than 50 years of experience, Bruce Wilson believes that many young brokers in Atlanta lack the necessary motivation to succeed in this market.

"There's a great opportunity out there for the young brokers," he said, "but it will take a great deal of elbow grease.  We all need to remember that sometimes we need 7-day work weeks and 10-hour days to make things better, faster". After all, according to Bruce, "a stable, flat-line economy would not be very exciting anyway."

With a community grounded by an airport that's 30% larger than the next biggest in the nation, and approximately 100,000 people per year moving into our city, perhaps we should recognize our unique position in the market with a little more defense, encouragement and enthusiasm.  "Atlanta is the best city in the country," Bruce said.

When the Rooster asked what makes him stand out from the CRE crowd and what gives him the successful edge, he simply offered, "I don't play golf and I don't hunt.  Everyone therefore wonders how the hell I do it.  But I have a house on the beach and five grandkids to enjoy.  Who needs more motivation than that?".
