Carter Invades the Big Apple

Michael Seton, Executive Vice President of Carter's new Manhattan office.
The largest office development firm in the Southeast, Carter,
charged the Northeast by opening its Manhattan office this month with the hiring of Executive Vice President Michael Seton, a
15-year veteran of the capital markets industry. Seton joins Carter after serving as the managing director and division head in Eurohypo's
Originations Group, and brings to Carter the experience of his direct involvement in more than $25 billion in
financings for the real estate industry during the course of his career.
"Our
New York office will enable Carter to better leverage our existing
relationships on the debt and equity sides," Bob Peterson, Carter Chairman and CEO, said. "The
addition of Michael, in particular, will enable Carter to establish new
relationships while fortifying the existing ones."
In the Manhattan office, Seton's focus will be to expand Carter's principal investment activity by
further developing the firm's relationships in the equity and debt capital
markets. He will also source new investment opportunities for Carter while working closely with Carter's Advisory Services Group and The Carter Funds. The two Carter Funds have made 20 investments exceeding a combined value of $500 million since 2004.
"I
am excited to join the Carter team and look forward to enhancing their already
strong reputation in the capital markets," Seton said. "The firm is
comprised of truly talented individuals, who can bring to bear their real
estate operating expertise at this challenging but opportunity-filled time in
the real estate cycle."

Can Someone Get This Guy a Walkie Talkie?
Chet Koenig of HMLC obviously knows how to juggle multiple brokerage deals.
You know business is good when you're signing more than a deal a week, have a phone in each ear and a buzzing Blackberry in hand. Chet Koenig, Principal and Senior Vice President of Hodges Management and Leasing Company, has signed four new deals and a renewal in the last 30 days.
In Peachtree Corners, he signed Moto Dealer Imports, LLC (44,092 SF), Martial Arts Group, Inc. (12,563 SF) and CJP Enterprises, Inc. (10,100 SF), and renewed Georgian Stone (14,108 SF). At Southridge, down by the airport, he signed CTS Global Logistics (25,227 SF).
That totals just over 100,000 square feet for more than 26 years if you combine the terms. Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!
Signed deals are something to shake your tail feathers about! Tell our editor all about what you inked and we'll do our best to share your success with all the Rooster readers.

Chili, Gumbo and Beer. Enough Said. Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia is holding their 8th Annual Chili and Gumbo Cook-off tonight at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta. The popular event, which attracted nearly 500 people last year, features 30 varieties of chili and gumbo in competition for the awards of Best Theme, Best Chili and Best Gumbo. The event offers a fun and casual networking opportunity for ABC members and perhaps best of all, free beer. The Rooster hopes that the chili is all beef-based this year!
