It's a Baby Rooster!

Tony Wilbert's newest pride and joy: Rebecca Schell Wilbert.
Cock-a-doodle-doo! We are excited to share that our contributing writer, Tony Wilbert, has welcomed a new little rooster to his family. Rebecca Schell Wilbert was born Tuesday morning at Piedmont Hospital in Buckhead. Mom, Dad and the proud big brother and big sister are all doing great; however, doctors are baffled by the very clear birthmark on Rebecca's left cheek. We're certain they will figure it out!
Please join us in congratulating Tony on this wonderful new addition to his family!

McKinsey Looking at Midtown and Buckhead
Looking up: Georgia-Pacific Center in downtown Atlanta, current local office of McKinsey & Co.
Downtown boosters apparently have helped persuade KPMG to stay
downtown, where the firm is in discussions with Portman Holdings to
renew at SunTrust Plaza. But they might not be as successful with
McKinsey & Co. McKinsey, the ultra-high-end consulting firm, currently has its Atlanta office at Georgia-Pacific Center in downtown Atlanta. The firm, which launched a search earlier this summer, is checking out several Class A towers in Midtown and Buckhead, according to landlord reps specializing in the submarkets. McKinsey is said to have been interested in the office building rising at 1075 Peachtree St. at Daniel Corp. and Selig Enterprises' 12th & Midtown development. However, Boston Consulting Group has committed to the tower, and that might make a deal with McKinsey hard to complete. In Buckhead, 3344 Peachtree is in the running. McKinsey hired Brad Armstrong of Jones Lang LaSalle to represent it in its search for about 50,000 square feet. McKinsey currently occupies approximately 60,000 square feet at Georgia-Pacific Center. The lease there expires in 2011, and a winning landlord might have to cough up a hefty termination fee. McKinsey spokeswoman Yolande Daeninck said she could not comment for this story. "Thank you for your understanding," she said.

1155 Perimeter Center West Goes Gold
1155 Perimeter Center West in Sandy Springs off I-285 at GA-400
The three-building complex at 1155 Perimeter Center West has been awarded Gold LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The 376,694-square-foot complex, which comprises a 12-story office tower and a trading center and data center, was completed in 2000. The complex, home to the headquarters of Mirant Corp., is owned by Boston-based AEW Capital Management. AEW acquired the property in 2007 on behalf of one of its institutional clients. TPA Realty Services manages the complex for AEW. A LEED-consulting team from Envision Realty Services also assisted in the certification process. "The reams at TPA and Envision Realty came together and did an outstanding job," said Jim Young, an AEW vice president. "This was an exceptional achievement, which will provide long-term benefits for the asset and the tenants."
