Facebook Phenom

Mr. Popular: District 2 Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall, who has reached the
Facebook "friend" limit of 5,000 people, with Carly Nassar, project manager -
planning, Central Atlanta Progress.
Downtown
development group Central Atlanta Progress on July 23 announced its own economic
stimulus package at a Town Hall meeting at Hyatt Regency
Atlanta.
Downtown planners
have allocated $2.1 million for nine improvement projects - including replacing
50 missing and 34 broken street lights. The projects will be funded largely by
the 300 commercial property owners within the 200-block of the Atlanta Downtown
Improvement District.
Executives also
shared a little-known fact about social networking site
Facebook. CAP's Paul Kelman noted that District 2 Councilman Kwanza Hall, whose
district includes Downtown, has reached the Facebook limit of 5,000 "friends."
Quipped Kelman,
executive vice president of CAP, who made the cut on Hall's page, "I feel like
I'm part of a select group and nobody [else] is allowed
in."
Never fear, Hall
has begun a "fan" page to accommodate the rest.
Mayoral candidate Lisa Borders attended CAP's July 23 town hall
meeting

CB Richard Ellis Wins Prestigious Watson Cup

CB Richard Ellis sluggers pose prior to their semi-final game against Ackerman.
The 2009 Battle for the Watson Cup on July 29th was everything it's known to be: burgers, beer and ball-busting. CB Richard Ellis staked claim to the legendary softball
trophy with a 10-9 victory over the defending champions Indies. Rumor has it that history was
made when Ron Arnold of the Indies hit a solid home run in the semis against Carter. We'll leave his age undisclosed but he chalked his victory up to luck and told the Rooster, "Hey, sometimes
even the blind squirrel gets the acorn, you know." Lucky
squirrel.
Blind Squirrel Ron Arnold : We
suppose no one told Ron that THIS wasn't an acorn. But he wanted it
anyway. Maybe next year Ron.
