Did You Know?  File Sharing

DropboxDo you have multiple computers or devices and want your files to be available on each one? Some people use flash drives, or here is another option...

Dropbox is a free file sharing service that is available anywhere you have the Internet.  Files, such as Word Documents or PowerPoints, can be private or shared with others.  There is a 2 GB max space for the free version.

Free registration is required and a companion program is loaded on your Mac/PC or iPod/iPad/Blackberry/Android.

Sum it up:  You can have access to all your files (stored on a secure server) on any device that is connected to the Internet.  Your laptop crashes, no worries, you can view your files on your desktop or iPhone.

Check it out:  http://www.dropbox.com
Tech Tip of the Month... Free apps!
Since everybody and their brother has an iPhone, iPod or iPad, here are some fun (and even educational) free apps.

Also, check out this website on FRIDAYS only for free or reduced pricing family friendly apps.  http://momswithapps.com/
I've been impressed with the free apps.  You have to download on iTunes on Friday as the price goes back up the next day!

Good free apps:
Talking Tom Cat Talking Tom Cat  - Cat repeats what you say.

Pocket Pond Pocket Pond - Looks like a real pond, touch the screen to make the water/fish move.

Bug Squash Bug Squash Lite - Squash the bugs with your finger as they run accross the screen.

Bubble PopperBubble Popper free - Bubble wrap paper you can pop with your finger.

Simon Simon Original - Classic game.
tic tac toe TicTacToe Free - Play one or two players.
Lose It! Lose It! - Track your calories everyday.
Healthy Recipes Healthy Recipes by SparkRecipes - Easy low fat recipes.  Look up by category or search.

ABA Flashcards ABA Flashcards - by Kindergarten.com.  Different categories that show the picture, word and have audio feedback.
Feed Me!  Feed Me: Pencil Bot Preschool - Drag and drop the correct answer to the mouth of the monster; my preschooler loves this game.

Yellow Pages Yellow Pages - The phone book.

dictionary Dictionary.com - Look up words.

Moms with Apps Moms with Apps - Catalog of children and family-friendly apps.

air hockey Air Hockey Gold - Play one or two players.

web MD WebMD Mobile - look up health issues.

These free apps are pretty good, the major downfall of them is the advertisements.

Here's some other awesome apps that cost $, I can't live without them!

Informant  Informant ($4.99) Color coding calendar.

Awesome Note  Awesome Note ($3.99) Organizational Post-it Notes.

Wallet Moxier Wallet (free, but to back up to server $20/year)  All your confidential information like user names, passwords, credit card numbers, medication info, etc. in one spot.  Secured by a Master Password.
