My Data, Your Phone?
May companies have
what would politely be called a loose policy regarding
mobile devices connecting to their network. A popular term
is BYOD, which stands for Bring Your Own Device. Employees
supplying their own mobile devices is a great idea, right?
The employer doesn't have to purchase more phones and
accounts, the employee gets to use what they like, everyone
wins! Maybe. From the employee perspective, depending upon
how your company sets these devices up, you may have just
given your employer the ability to completely wipe your
device of all data, corporate and personal. A pretty
commonly enforced policy is to automatically wipe a mobile
device after a certain number of unsuccessful attempts at
putting in your pin code. So when your eight year old picks
up your phone to play angry birds and guesses wrong a few
times. . . ZAP! You now have an expensive brick that needs to be
set back up, without the data that was previously on it. Did
you know that by using your personal phone on the corporate
network, you may be subject to a discovery request if your
company becomes involved in litigation?

BYOD, Are You
Prepared?
Questions You Should Ask.
by Jack Safrit, CEO of Axxys Technologies
No,
I'm not talking about having a party but rather one of the hottest
topics in technology today. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is becoming
an absolute factor in almost every business today. Your employees,
vendors, and guests all probably bring some type of personal
communication device or their own notebooks to your workplace every
day. Many employees are using their own devices to connect to your
business networks, if for nothing more than the receipt of your
corporate email. So why is BYOD a hot topic?

the keys. For most people, the keyboard is the primary computer
input and control device--that's why it's important to leverage the

maximize ease of use, comfort, and efficiency.
1. Get to know your keyboard
