On September
24th, Infinity Park Event Center held an International Celebration of their First
Year Anniversary. The evening was filled with Denver's finest
entertainment, gourmet food, décor, and delicious beverages. It was a great
opportunity for clients to see the space and meet the vendors that they will
soon be working very close with. It also allowed the vendors the opportunity to
network with each other and build new relationships. In collaboration with it's
very own preferred vendors they created an evening that their guest will not
forget. Please check out their website at www.infinityparkeventcenter.com

President's Corner:
Happy fall ISES Members!
The brisk
weather and changing leaves make me realize how quickly time flies. I feel like my term as President of the ISES
Denver Chapter has barely begun. I hope
you all are enjoying each day and making it memorable!
We have had a
couple of great programs already this year and the ISES meetings and events
calendar has so much to look forward to.
I am hearing that everyone had a fantastic time networking and playing
ISES Bingo at the September meeting held at Earl's Downtown. We hope you met new friends and associates
and felt your time spent with us was valuable.
Upcoming we are
looking forward to what is planned to be a fantastic luncheon provided by the
Food Guy at Cielo on October 20th, 2009. The board is pleased to be
able to provide the opportunity for a great bit of education, provided by Dennis
Wittmer our Guest Speaker on Professionalism & Ethical Business Practices. This is sure to be enlightening and helpful
to us all in our future business relationships.
In case you
have not heard about our experiment of changing up the times for meetings, this
will be the first lunch meeting in quite a number of years. The plan is to allow for meeting times that
provide opportunities for people with varying schedules to attend. We also have decided to maximize the
educational events by making them during the day and the networking cocktail
events after work. Let me know what you
think, I would love your feedback.
I will wrap up with the plea that you all APPLY FOR
THE SCHOLARSHIP TO THE SPECIAL EVENT!!!
This is one of the most life changing benefits of membership that we as
a chapter offer. We provide airfare,
hotel, & the education package for one dedicated ISES member, to go to a world
class event conference with an amazing line-up of educational
opportunities. Applications are due on
October 30th, 2009. They will then be sent anonymously to another
ISES chapter somewhere in the USA
for judging. The winner will be awarded
on December 1st and the conference is in New Orleans, January 11th to January
15th, 2010. The details and
application are here in the newsletter. Also, check out the conference website
at www.thespecialeventshow.com. I hope to
see a record number of applicants taking advantage of this fabulous
opportunity.
I would be honored for the chance
to meet and get to know each of you!!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, and/or
just to say HI!
All my best regards, Dawn Abbott

| DANCE TRAX ENTERTAINMENT, INC. PURCHASES ELECTRICAL AND CARBON CREDITS TO OFFSET EMISSIONS AT 10 ISES EVENTS:
Dance Trax has teamed with Renewable Choice Energy in Boulder, CO to create a program that allows ISES to offset its electrical and carbon footprint at 10 meetings starting with the ISES Green Meeting in November of 2008. This 10 meeting commitment is similar to: - Planting 127 mature trees or - Not driving 31,507 miles in an average car
At the time of purchase, this commitment cost - $0.01 / kWh (kilowatt hour) and - $9.50 / MtCO2e (metric ton of carbon emissions)
Dance Trax was one of the first entertainment and production companies in Colorado to literally offer wind powered entertainment and production services. Renewable Choice made it possible for Dance Trax to purchase wind power certificates to replace all of the electrical energy it uses in its office, its warehouse and at every event they supply services for throughout the year.
In addition to replacing energy used on the grid with wind power, Dance Trax purchased carbon credits to offset the carbon footprint caused by their equipment trucks and all of their employee's personal vehicles used to get to and from events.
