President's Corner:
Thank you to all who
participated in our May meeting at DSC. Thank you to DSC for hosting the
event for ISES and NACE, and to all of our great sponsors. It was great to
join forces with NACE and see so many new faces. The farmers market was a
huge hit! I know I enjoyed my homemade tortillas all week! I think
that should be a yearly event. Thank you again to NACE for including us
and being such a great partner.
As this is my final
letter as President of the most incredible ISES Chapter in the country, I have
many thanks that are in order. First, I'd like to thank my wonderful and
hard working board. Without the dedication of you all, my job as President
would've been very difficult. You all are so dedicated to the mission of
ISES, and always gave 100%. The experience of leading ISES this past year
has been very rewarding for me. I never knew how much I appreciated ISES
and what it has done for me and my career. I would highly recommend to all
of you to GET INVOLVED! That means joining a committee, really be present
at the meetings, and taking part in networking. I know how easy it is to
become comfortable with those that you know, but just think how much more you
could take away from the meetings just by meeting ONE new person. As
President, I made it my goal to meet as many new people as I could every meeting
and I can't tell you how many more great contacts I've received by doing
so.
The Denver Chapter is
ending its year financially stable and focusing on next year's goals. I
leave you in AWESOME hands with Dawn Abbott as she has some incredible ideas and
such positive energy for next year.
So I leave you with
this:
· Get Involved!
Join a committee!!!
· Attend either Event
World or Special Event!
· Be Present! You
only get out of it what you put in!
· Network! Meet
one new person at each meeting!
· Always give your
feedback to your board. We are there to help you and continue to make this
the BEST ISES Chapter in the country!
Thank you for
sticking with ISES and making it the success that it is
today.

May's ISES/NACE Meeting Recap:
The ISES May event was held in conjunction with NACE at the Denver. Our first combined meeting, it was a huge success! Close to 100 members of both organizations were treating to a farmer's market of sustainable & local goods such as wines, food and beer! Caterers provided organic cuisine and guests left with a goodie bag full of information. Thanks so much to NACE for helping put on such a great event.
