Here we are in the midst of fall. Almost every day this summer in Calgary seemed a challenge, and the challenge was to believe it was actually summer! Speak to any Calgarian and you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who thought the weather was anything but disappointing. Yet, as in life, weather doesn't determine a great day, regardless of the weather, some very terrific things materialized this summer:
First, I was married to the love of my life on May 15th during a small gathering at a golf course near Calgary. Happiness, thy name is Patti...
Second, HAPPY HALLOWE'EN! That happens to be my birthday, so in celebration this email holds an announcement of our first ebook!
Leadership XXL: Live It Lead It is a guidebook for busy leaders who want an easy-to-digest and easy-to-look-up set

of leadership essentials. A pragmatic guidebook with 11 steps for leaders practicing leading Extra, Extra LARGE! This is only the first in what will be a series of guidebooks provided by our
In The Lead Seat publishers.
Third, we opened up a 2nd division of Strategic Sense called
Small Biz Creative, in order to help new business people get a quick start by assisting them with an affordable alternative to websites, Facebook fan pages and design elements. This is the brain-child and baby of Velma, our webmaster, who has taken it on with gusto and she is enthusiastic about making life easy for new business owners. Easy how? By being the supplier who does not tie you in by hooking you into our services.
We want you to have success as a small business owner and don't expect you to have to come back to us every time you need a change, only return if you are happy with us.
Fourth, I was graced with the opportunity to participate in helping the head shovel-holder break ground for
Providence, a Health, Education and Therapy Centre for pre-school children with disabilities. As Chairperson of the Board of Directors, being able to announce the building of an additional facility in McKenzie Town, Calgary has been exceptionally exciting.
Now, to raise funds!Additionally, we've discovered a fantastic meet-up group called
Calgary Startup and Entrepreneurs. The group meets in Calgary, AB and if you are local to Calgary, think about attending. I spoke at the October 12th, event and have found the other speakers informative and content driven. Start-up companies can learn a lot from this group of folks.
Other gems this summer include being asked to participate as a Global Ambassador to
Vision 2010 Global Leadership Conference on the 21st Century. This conference takes place November 15-21 in Yaounde Cameroon, Africa It is our hope I will be able to physically attend this conference in 2014.
Finally, if you have worked with us, obtained inspiration, leadership mentoring, guidance or are in support of my contribution to your leadership or business life,
I welcome a vote from you at
Leadership Gurus to remain on the list for 2011.
Be Happy,
Patti
