Springtime Has Its Own Driving Hazards At last the days are getting longer and the temperatures are on the up. The winter is just about behind us. But, with the aftermath of ice and frosts, our roads are a bit worse for wear. Potholes, cracks and uneven surfaces are just some of the problems winter brings to our roads. The annual ritual of roadway maintenance and repairs is about to begin! Here are some quick tips to help you with some Springtime happy motoring: Expect the unexpected: Normal speed limits may be reduced, traffic lanes may be altered, workmen and equipment may be working on or near the road and at night, bright work lights may impair visibility. Slow down: Keep to the speed limit - it is there for a reason! Don't tailgate: Keep a safe distance between you and the car ahead of you. Pay attention to the warning signs: The signs are there to help you and other drivers move safely through the road works. Be patient and stay calm: Road works aren't there to inconvenience you.
