Life's Surprises

"Knock, knock."

"Who's there?"

"Your..."

"Your who?"

"Your life."

Funny thing about life is the surprises that it brings.  We encounter surprises in relationships, jobs, health and so much more.  There is an old line that declares, "If you want to see God laugh, tell Him your plans."  My faith tells me that the last laugh, too, is His in that life's "plan" is not revealed until the end, if then.

That should not keep us from answering the door when we hear the knock.  Answer it with your eyes and heart open, but also be open to the conversations and connections that may come.

Life gives us many surprises.  We can either turn them into turmoil and fear, or chances for growth, love and awareness.  The choice is ours.
