Pastor's Note
WOW! Talk about "everyone on the wall" ! Fall festival was absolutely incredible and to work alongside so many of you was a joy! SO many worked SO hard to make this a special day of fun and bridge building with our community, but I would be remiss not to especially thank Shari Dawson for coordinating the Festival, and Llurah Utt for overseeing the Rummage Sale! Thank you ! Then on Sunday evening we had 100 middle and sr. high students from 5 different area churches join us for our Taco and Band night. I'm so happy for the emerging networking with other congregations! For those of you who are newer to Harvester, this upcoming Sunday is our monthly "Newcomers Lunch" from noon till 1:00 pm. If you and your family would like to attend, please RSVP either to me or to the church office by Friday. There is no charge and I would enjoy getting to know you better in this informal setting. Children's Ministry
PLAYTIME IN THE PATCH - Our second "Playtime" was wonderful! We had a huge crowd and great weather. Thanks to all of you who volunteered and to those of you who brought your children and friends out to the patch!
Our SMENCILS fundraiser is close to wrapping up...we only have a few left! Smencils (gourmet scented pencils made from recycled newspapers) are available in 10 scents and the kids love them! They are $1 each. Thanks to all of you who have already purchased Smencils. Look for us in the hall or near the Welcome Center on Sunday morning. Proceeds benefit our Playground Fund.

Youth Ministry
See Youth Schedule on the right for what's happening this week.
November is Youth month in the Welcome Center: The youth will be manning and providing food donations for the Welcome Center for the month of November. Please check out the sign-up sheets on the Youth Bulletin Board to see where you can help out.
Belk Charity Coupon Sales: The youth will be selling Belk coupons. If you purchase a Belk coupon for $5, you will receive $5 off your purchase on Saturday November 7th. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Harvester UMC. Look for the youth selling tickets in the weekends to come.
Family Devotional Time: The link below will take you to a devotion to be used with your entire family. Our Wednesday night youth bible study is studying The Life of Christ: The Basis of Faith. Each week the devotion provided here will tie to the lesson the youth will be covering that Wednesday night. However, the devotions can be used as a stand-alone tool to prompt discussion in your family. So, even if your youth is not participating in the Wednesday night study please take a look at the link below. To access the devotion please click here

Outreach
Thanksgiving Hootenanny: Christian Social Services will host a concert to benefit the "Share the Season" food drive. Dan Johnson and the Heartland Singers will perform November 7, at 7pm at The Groves Clubhouse. Ticket cost $10.
Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child Shoebox: Beginning October 24th and through November 22nd we will be collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts of love for children in need. Brochures about this ministry are available at the Welcome Center. Please take a brochure and prayerfully consider this wonderful opportunity to serve. Please contact Jeannette Phillips at jpphil@tampabay.rr.com with any questions you may have. Harvester UMC has a goal to collect 100 of these filled shoeboxes. Can you help us meet that goal?
Christian Social Services is a ministry of local churches which offers food, clothes, supportive services and Christian hospitality to people in the name of Jesus Christ. This time of year CSS looks to churches and businesses in the area to help them with their annual Thanksgiving Food Basket ministry. Thanksgiving Food Baskets will be distributed to families in need right here in Pasco County on November 21st. There are several different ways you can support this Thanksgiving Food Basket ministry.
1)You can make a monetary contribution to CSS
2)You may donate non perishable food items that can be used in the Thanksgiving Food Baskets. GREEN bins with CSS Thanksgiving Food Basket signs on them will be placed outside the Sanctuary doors beginning October 31st through November 15th. 3)You can volunteer to help handout the Thanksgiving Food Baskets. Baskets will be distributed between the hours of 8:30AM and 1:00PM on November 21st at the First United Methodist Church at 6209 Land O Lakes Blvd. No sign up is required.
If you have any questions about this opportunity to serve, please contact Llurah Utt at 996-6926 or email Kathy Lahr at gslahr@yahoo.com

October Outreach: Special thanks to all of you who helped make the Fall Festival/Rummage Sale and Pumpkin Patch a huge success. God provided us with a beautiful day for the Fall Festival and Rummage Sale and we received donations and help from many of you.
What a tremendous outpouring of love! This was a great example of the Body of Christ pulling together to accomplish HIS will. It truly was a blessing to be able to host these activities as an outreach to the community we serve.
