Pastor's Note
What an incredible October we are having! Last week we had 100 children for Games, Crafts and a Bible Story at Playtime in the Patch! We have one more Playtime this Wednesday at 10:30 and then our Fall Festival this Saturday from 10 - 2. I look forward to working alongside you as we build bridges with our community at a fun, family event! My personal thanks to everyone who is working so hard to make this a GREAT month of outreach to our community.
Remember that due to the need to create space for rummage sale items, "Live Big" for elementary children will NOT be meeting this Wednesday 10/21. Children's Choirs WILL meet to practice for their part in this upcoming weekend's worship services. In HIM,
Pastor Sam

Children's Ministry
PLAYTIME IN THE PATCH is a wonderful outreach and we had a great time last week. We already have volunteers "slated" for our activities during tomorrow's "Playtime" (Wednesday 10/21), but anyone who would like to help is welcome...come on out and we'll find a place for you! There's always plenty to do. This event is held at the front of our property, right next to the pumpkin patch from 10:30-11:15am.
Our SMENCILS fundraiser is close to wrapping up...we only have a few left! Smencils (gourmet scented pencils made from recycled newspapers) are available in 10 scents and the kids love them! They are $1 each. Thanks to all of you who have already purchased Smencils. Look for us in the hall or near the Welcome Center on Sunday morning. Proceeds benefit our Playground Fund.

Youth Ministry
See Youth Schedule on the right for what's happening this week.
This is an exciting weekend for the Youth....we have two big events going on. On Saturday, October 24th, from 10 until 2, we need 'everyone on the wall' for our 6th Annual Fall Festival. If you haven't signed up to help out please check out the big bulletin board in the hallway and find a spot for you. Then on Sunday, October 25th, from 5 until 7 in the evening, we are having a Free Taco Night and Outdoor Concert. We have 4 youth bands from the area (Harvester UMC, Lutz UMC, LoL UMC and LOLHS FCA Band) plus our own youth drama team performing.....not to mention FREE tacos! Please invite your friends to join you for this fun event! [HUMC Youth: please bring drinks and/or a dessert to share for the Free Taco Night. We could also use a few parents to help chaperone, set-up and clean-up on Sunday....there is a sign up sheet on the big bulletin board in the hallway.] It should be great weekend! If you have questions or need more information please contact Shari Dawson (dawsonfamily4@verizon.net or 813-380-6624).
November is Youth month in the Welcome Center: The youth will be manning and providing food donations for the Welcome Center for the month of November. Please check out the sign-up sheets on the Youth Bulletin Board to see where you can help out.
Family Devotional Time: The link below will take you to a devotion to be used with your entire family. Our Wednesday night youth bible study is studying The Life of Christ: The Basis of Faith. Each week the devotion provided here will tie to the lesson the youth will be covering that Wednesday night. However, the devotions can be used as a stand-alone tool to prompt discussion in your family. So, even if your youth is not participating in the Wednesday night study please take a look at the link below. To access the devotion please click here Click here for up-to-date information on future youth activities.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day brings thousands of women and men together across the country, each raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. Then they take their commitment to end breast cancer one step further and walk 60 miles over the course of three days.
This year, Deborah Aparicio has decided to make that commitment. Please join us in remembering those who have passed on, in celebrating those who survived and in supporting walkers like Deborah Aparicio who walk to raise awareness and funds in the effort to end breast cancer by wearing PINK during worship service on 10/24 & 10/25.
Another way you can show your support is by signing up to be in prayer for Deborah and all the other walkers, crew and staff who will begin their walk on Friday 10/30/09. There is a Prayer Log posted outside Teresa Boudreau's office with 30 minute time slots. Sign up to be in prayer during one of these time slots.
Let us fill the sanctuary with shades of PINK on 10/24 & 10/25 and lift our voices in prayer as a sign of remembrance, celebration, support and most of all HOPE.
