Pastor's Note
It was so cool last weekend to see so many beginning to find their "place on the wall" in serving Christ. We'll be keeping information on ministry opportunities available during the remainder of our worship series on Nehemiah: "Hey, Hand me a Brick!". There was a GREAT turn out to offload pumpkins on Friday evening and the pumpkin patch is off and running. This week and next will include "Playtime in the Patch" events for families and children in the community. What an amazing congregation!
T-Shirts: Many have asked how to get one of the new Harvester T-shirts. We didn't quite anticiplate the level of interest this soon! This first batch is primarliy for those volunteering at one of our October outreach events, but we'll be able to order more as interest and need demand. So, how do I get one of this first batch?
First, volunteer (if you've not already) for one of our special Fall Ministries (Pumpkin Patch, Playtime in the Patch, Fall Festival).
Second, grab your size shirt from the cart in the office
If possible, leave $7.00 donation to cover our cost.

Children's Ministry
PLAYTIME IN THE PATCH this morning was wonderful! We had a huge crowd join us in the patch with their preschoolers for a fun time of cookies, crafts, games, tattoos and a story. Thank you to the volunteers who worked in our fall heat this morning.
Our next Playtime is Wednesday, October 21st from 10:30-11:15am. We still need a few volunteers to help out next Wednesday so please contact Jennifer Smith at jennifer@harvesterumc.org if you'd like to be part of the fun!
Our SMENCILS fundraiser is close to wrapping up...we only have about 50 left! Smencils (gourmet scented pencils made from recycled newspapers) are available in 10 scents and the kids love them! They are $1 each. Thanks to all of you who have already purchased Smencils. Look for us in the hall or near the Welcome Center on Sunday morning. Proceeds benefit our Playground Fund.

Family Devotional Time: The link below will take you to a devotion to be used with your entire family. Our Wednesday night youth bible study is studying The Life of Christ: The Basis of Faith. Each week the devotion provided here will tie to the lesson the youth will be covering that Wednesday night. However, the devotions can be used as a stand-alone tool to prompt discussion in your family. Outreach
Pumpkin Patch The Pumpkin Patch will be open October 10th - 30th. There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board in the hallway. We have several openings for people to work in the patch, selling pumpkins. Please call the church office to sign up for a time slot. This is a very important fund raiser for our church and we would appreciate the help from all who are available.
Donations: We will be collecting jars of peanut butter with $1 bill attached for Christian Social Services and Habitat for Humanity.
Purple bins will be at the welcome center for these donations, accepted through October 18th.
Prayer Walk: Wednesday, October 21st, we are going to be prayer walking the property in preparation for the Fall Festival, from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join us!

Rummage Sale - October 24th
Harvester is having a rummage sale from 7am-12pm on Saturday, October 24th (same day as Fall Festival).
Items to be donated for the rummage sale may be dropped off at the church Monday (10/19) through Wednesday (10/21). Due to space constraints we ask that you hold your donations until then. NOTE: Only useable items please. NO computers, TV's, mattresses, boxsprings or sleeper sofas (too heavy). Clothing should be clean (no stains or holes).

Youth Schedule
Wednesday, October 14th:
Regular Wednesday night bible study from 6:45 - 7:45. The youth are studying The Life of Christ: The Basis of Faith. This week's lesson is on Follow the Leader.
Sunday, October 18th
DRAMA rehearsal will start at 4:30 followed by BAND rehearsal at 5:00. Regular SNY will follow from 6:00 - 8:00.
