Word of the Week September 15, 2009
Pastor's Note

What a great week and weekend of ministry we've had!  It was great to see so many Harvester's at the Christian Social Services Banquet on Saturday evening.  The Harvester "Spa Basket" was a huge hit!  Sunday evening, we had upwards of 60 middle and Sr. high students from 4 different youth groups at our burger bash.  Don't forget this Wednesday evening launches our Wed Night Ministry for children, youth and adults.  I look forward to hearing your input on the Spiritual LIfe Survey at the Chat Back session.  We want to continue being certain that our ministry is truly making a difference in your relationship with Christ.

Children's Ministry

Calling all PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS!  We need you to help with Sunday school and our other special events this school year.  Please check out our "Children's Ministry Volunteer Central" rolling board in the hall (or outside before/after worship if weather permits) and sign up to be a part of this vital ministry here at Harvester!  Thank you.

Wednesday Night Children's Program
Beginning September 16th, we will offer "Live BIG" for elementary age children from 6:45-7:45pm.  Children will be divided into two classes:

Grades K-2 with Ms. Peggy and Ms. Kelly
Grades 3-5 with Ms. Diana and Ms. Jennifer

This program is similar to Discovery Club that we've offered in previous years.

Our SMENCILS FUNdraiser is going on now!  Smencils (gourmet scented pencils made from recycled newspapers) are available in 10 scents and the kids love them!  They are $1 each.  Thanks to all of you who have already purchased Smencils.  We have plenty more, so look for us near the Welcome Tent on Sunday mornings.  Proceeds will go toward our Playground Fund.
