Pastor's Note
Barb and I had a tremendous time away in Vermont and Quebec and are excited to be back again with our Harvester Family. My thanks to so many who worked very hard in my absence to teach God's word, handle administrative tasks, and prepare for the Back to School Bash. I understand our middle and senior high youth did an outstanding job leading worship this past weekend as well. What an incredible church!
Soon we'll be immersed in our fall ministry schedule. Be sure and mark your calendars for the "Let's Connect Mixer" on September 9th from 6:45-8:00pm where you can learn more about study and fellowship opportunities this fall. Full Wednesday evening ministry begins on September 16th.

Children's Ministry
Calling all PARENTS! We need you to help with Sunday school this fall. We urgently need at least 3 more adults to help cover our classes beginning in September - that's this Sunday! Call or email Jennifer Smith (948-2311, jennifer@harvesterumc.org) to let her know where and when you can help! Thank you.
Our SMENCILS FUNdraiser is going on now! Smencils (gourmet scented pencils made from recycled newspapers) are available in 10 scents and the kids love them! They are $1 each. Thanks to everyone who bought Smencils at the Back to School Bash on Sunday. We have plenty more, so look for us near the Welcome Tent on Sunday mornings. Proceeds will go toward our Playground Fund.

Study & Fellowship Groups - Get Connected!
Find a place to connect with other Christians. We have a number of small groups meeting this summer and some great new studies beginning this fall. Click here to find out more.
Set aside Wednesday evening, September 9th for our "Get Connected Mixer" from 6:45-8:00pm. This is a great opportunity to take the next step to connect with the Harvester Family by discovering which group or class is for you! It will be an open house in the sanctuary with displays from each of the groups, class leaders to talk to, and light refreshments. See you there!

Youth Ministry

Thanks to Jay Evans for leading the Youth vs. Adults Kickball Game at the Back-to-School Bash. We had a great turnout!!! The Adults beat the Youth by a score of 9 - 2!!!
Youth Leadership Meeting, Tuesday, September 8th, 6:30-8pm:
Any parents and/or youth interested in helping plan/coordinate activities are invited to attend this meeting.
Yankee Candle Fundraiser: We were able to extend the end date for the candle sale. All order forms, along with checks/cash, are due on Sunday, September 13th, during Sunday Night Youth. Orders can be dropped by the church office anytime between now and 9/13. Remember, the top sellers will receive a prize!!!!

Worship
The music and drama ministries will join together this Christmas season to present the musical A Baby Changes Everything. All interested singers are invited to join the choir for rehearsals beginning Wednesday, September 9th from 8-9 pm. Be in touch with Shannon Miller (shannon@harvesterumc.org) with any questions.
