Pastor's Note
There are a lot of terms we use to describe church, but one of my favorites is "family". And some of my favorite family events are parties and picnics. August 30th is our ALL Church Family Back to School Bash. Immediately after morning services we will enjoy BBQ from Hungry Harry's, games for all ages, and time just to connect with our growing family. Tickets available starting this weekend! See you there!

We are looking for a few more volunteers for the last three Sundays in August as well as for Wednesday nights and Sunday school this fall.
The fall sign-up sheets are on the Children's Ministry board in the hall. We'd like to get all our fall volunteers signed up this weekend so that we have time to get everyone prepared for September!
Our more urgent need is for help finishing up the month of August in Sunday school. If you can help out, please let Jennifer know ( jennifer@harvesterumc.org). Thank you! |

Worship
Grace Cafe
Harvester will be holding a Grace Café on Saturday, September 26th. We are on the lookout for your gifts to feed the body of Christ. We can use your abilities in singing, playing, dancing, drama, telling a story or giving your testimony. If you like being a "behind the scenes" kind of a person, we can use your talents, too. There are needs for running the sound, setup and of course, making treats. Parents, don't forget to think of your talented young ones and how much they may be able to bless the rest of us.
Please don't stay on the edge looking in; we are all called to help one another grow. Grace Café is a gentle and friendly way to get involved with helping your brothers and sisters grow in Christ. We will help you every step of the way with coaching, musical accompaniment, suggestions, connections and any other support. If you have a gift to share, please contact David Haqq (dhaqq@ciber.com) or Shannon Miller (SCMusik@aol.com) by August 23rd.
Christmas Musical Choir
The music and drama ministries will join together this Christmas season to present the musical A Baby Changes Everything. The drama team has already begun rehearsals and the choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 9th from 8:00-9:00 p.m.
The musical, to be presented on December 6th, will encourage us to make room in our hearts for the King as we experience anew the life-changing miracle of the Incarnation. We're praying to seat a large choir as we embrace this great opportunity to minister to others during the Christmas season. Outreach
We have several current opportunities to reach out to others in the name of Christ:
- Christian Social Services (Silent Auction & Benefit Dinner - contribute to a spa themed basket for the silent auction)
- Oasis Pregnancy Care Center (special prayer for upcoming events)
