Pastor's Note

What an incredible conclusion to our missions emphasis month!  What an inspiration to see everyone interacting with our mission guests, encouraging them and learning from them!  I'm sure we all have a much more informed and personal connection with these ministries.  Special thanks to Anna Mae Griffey and the Evangelism and Outreach team for their hard work in coordinating the mission fair and other components of the month!  I'm also looking forward to hearing the stories of distribution of the "Bags of Hope" that our children prepared. I am privileged to be your pastor and witness the impact we are having for Christ in our community, state, and world!

Outreach

Living in Faith (LIV)
A group is traveling to Haiti from 7/15 through 7/25 to bring the love of Jesus Christ to people in need. One of the ways that we can be a blessing is to help donate some very basic items for them to take with them on this trip. Beginning Saturday, June 27th through Sunday July 11th we will be collecting material donations. A bin will be placed in the Welcome Center for your donations.  A list of preferred items is included below. If you would like to learn more about this ministry, please contact Anna Mae Griffey at agriffey57@yahoo.com

Sheets & Pillow Cases (all sizes)
Blankets
Towels & Washcloths
Socks (all sizes)
Underwear (all sizes)

Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
Each year between October and November, we begin packing shoe boxes filled with precious gifts and lots of love as part of the OCC ministry.  Since it's inception in 1993, OCC has collected more than 68 million shoe box gifts and hand-delivered them to needy children in 145 countries.

This year in addition to preparing the shoeboxes, we have another exciting way to serve the Lord by volunteering in the Processing Center in Atlanta Georgia on December 4th & 5th.  Volunteers inspect and pack the shoe boxes and ready them for travel. It is a great time of fellowship and sharing. Registration begins on August 1st. If you are interested please email Jeannette Phillips at jpphil@tampabay.rr.com as soon as possible as spots will fill up quickly.  From there we will set up an orientation meeting to discuss the details of the trip.

Thursday, December 3rd - Travel to Atlanta
Friday, December 4th - Work in Processing Center
Saturday, December 5th - Work in Processing Center
Sunday, December 6th - Travel to Tampa

Youth Ministry

Wednesday, July 1st, 7:00 until 8:30 - Summer Youth Bible Study is open to all middle school and high school students.  Each week this group covers a biblical topic with lively discussions, related games, and treats (usually brownies).

Sunday, July 5th:  4:30 Youth Drama Team Rehearsal; 5:00 - 6:00 Youth Band Rehearsal; 6:00 - 6:30: SNY Dinner at Church; 6:30 - 8:00: Regular SNY programming

Dinner Help Needed:  For Sunday Night Youth (SNY), parents graciously prepare/provide dinner for the youth each week.  [Compensation is available to help offset the cost.]  We still have a few weeks where we need help with dinner.  Please sign up on the youth bulletin board if you are able to help out one week.  Contact Barbara Rodhouse (barbrodhouse@yahoo.com) if you need more information.

IMPACT Informational Meeting, Tuesday, July 7th from 6:00 until 6:30: This meeting is for all the participants (adults and youth) attending this year's mission trip to Orlando on July 26th until July 29th.  Please plan on attending.  Please let Shari Dawson know if you will not be able to attend.

Youth Leadership/Parent Meeting, Tuesday, July 7th from 6:30 until 8:00:  This is the date for our next planning meeting for the youth leadership and parents.  We will be discussing plans for the remainder of the summer, finalizing free taco night details, and looking forward at ideas for the fall.

Thursday, July 9th: Youth Work & Play Day - We will meet at the church at 8:45.  We will spend the morning helping out the Pasco County Transitional Kids group at Pine View Elementary (we will sort and organize and put together....basically whatever they need us to do).  Then we will get some lunch and then head to the Royal Bowling Alley on SR 41.  Parents can pick up their youth at 3:00 at the bowling alley.  Please bring $10 to cover the bowling and food; a completed and notarized Medical Release form; and a good attitude!  Let us know if you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have enough drivers and food!  You can email Shari Dawson directly at dawsonfamily4@verizon.net or sign-up on the youth bulletin board.

Free Taco Night, Sunday, July 12th, 6 to 8: Mark your calendars for this is a special night of youth where we provide FREE tacos for dinner along with music, drama, and a message of perseverance!  Other youth groups from the area will be joining us on this evening.
