News You Can Use: Family Meals
Family meals? They're old-fashioned, not new! That's true. But given the benefits of family mealtimes, they're worth another mention. Dozens of research studies have compared children who usually eat dinner with their families against those who don't, and the differences between the two groups is striking. Families who eat together have better communication, and kids from these families have more advanced language skills, peform better in school, eat a more nutritious diet at home and away from home, and are less likely to use drugs or develop eating disorders.

Julie noticed significant reductions in the amount of wasted milk during the lunch period we visited.
