CATCH Goes Outside for Summer
The Missoula CATCH team had a great time leading games and activities outside this summer at area parks and playgrounds. We visited three Missoula Parks & Rec camps every week over the course of seven weeks. CATCH intern Laura Balis also brought fun GO foods and GO physical activities to three Flagship sites. One of the kids' favorite activities was creating edible sculptures from fruits and vegetables (see photo above).
One Flagship coordinator said, "I loved that the kids were learning about nutrition and being active." A leader at Parks & Rec commented, "Every time I saw CATCH out there, the kids looked like they were running around and having fun." We had fun, too!
Thanks to Scott Stires, Ryan Yearous, and the Parks & Rec staff for their dedication to CATCH. We would also like to thank Lisa Beczkiewicz, Nicole Mitchell, Ali O'Connor, and Faith Price for their partnership with CATCH this summer.

Larry Fields Receives CATCH Scholarship
Congratulations to Larry Fields, Kitchen Manager at St. Regis School, for attending the OPI's School Food Service Cooking Institute in Bozeman this summer. Larry received a scholarship from our CATCH program to participate in the workshop so he could learn more about preparing healthy, delicious, and cost-effecive meals. Larry has used Eat Smart (the food service component of CATCH) for years and continues to improve his menu for the health of St. Regis's kids. Way to go, Larry!
