Go For It!
Is there something you would like to do that you haven't done because it involved taking a risk? Is there a networking group or event you haven't attended because you were afraid you wouldn't fit in? Is there a decision that you have h esitated to make because of fear of the unknown?
Your self care tip this week is to take some time re-examining where your beliefs, fears, and hesitations come from. Oftentimes they were born when we were younger; when we did not have the experience or wisdom we have now. So, in essence, we are basing our choices on faulty assumptions about ourself and our abilities.
This re-examination may be just what you need to nudge you to go after something you were afraid of or take the risk to get something you want!

One of the things that holds many people back from taking risks that involve other people is that they have a sense that others will think they "don't belong." If you have ever hesitated because you felt like you wouldn't fit in or that others hadn't invited you, read Longing for Belonging. It just might give you a new perspective!
Jana Stanfield, a singer songwriter friend of mine wrote a song that I have used on many occasions to motivate myself and others, entitled, If I Were Brave. She has just come out with a new CD, What Would You do This Year if You Had No Fear? Jana is always fun and inspiring!
