Sometimes Self Care Means Solitude
While many of us long for connection, at times we also need our solitude. If you live by yourself you have built-in solitude in your home. If you live with others, whether your partner, family, or roommates, finding "alone time" is often impossible.
Make time for solitude daily, if only for 15 minutes (and preferably not in your car on the way to work or doing errands!) That special "me" time is something you can cherish, look forward to, and can be a soothing stress reducer.

Here is a challenge for you: if you don't already have a place in your home that provides you some solitude but also feeds your sense of what is beautiful and relaxing to you, how about creating one? A Place of Your Own will get you started!
You may want some ideas on decorating "your place" to make it perfect for you. If you need some ideas or are "decoratively impaired," you might want to call one of these women to help:
Nancy Gleason - Gleason Interiors (Nancy is wonderful in picking out paint colors - she's helped me zero in I what I really love on several occasions.)
Melinda Bartling - Another Staged Home (Melinda is also a real estate agent who can give you ideas on how to use your own furniture and accessories to freshen up your space.)
Susan Provines - Susan Provines Interiors (Along with helping you make a special place for yourself in your home, Susan also has a specialty in Aging in Place which may help you or your elder relatives stay in their home longer than thought possible.)
