Anyone that loves the television show "Mad Men"  will no doubt agree that Melanie Davis has landed herself a very cool, but very challenging  job!    Melanie, a Leadership Macomb X graduate and former President of the Macomb Chamber, was recently appointed as the first ever Woman Executive Director for The Adcraft Club of Detroit, the largest local advertising club in the country.    Adcraft brings together the Detroit advertising, and marketing communications community to exchange ideas, support and educate, recognize and celebrate great work and foster creativity.  The organization was formed in 1905.  Since its inception, it has had only six other Executive Directors.

Besides keeping membership at the highest level in the Country, Melanie's other priorities as the new leader include:  Furthering Adcraft's  connection with the Creative Community, Leveraging technology to further advance the Club and its goals, Implementing mutually beneficial alliances throughout the community, and continuing to be the ambassador for the industry and community.  Melanie's 20+ years in business management and her experience in membership based organizations and working with volunteer boards and committees will definitely help her in moving Adcraft forward.  Equally important, however, are her extraordinary strengths in collaboration,  her ability to generate excitement, her positive attitude and dynamic work ethic.  She is a true leader!

Melanie says that going through the Leadership Macomb program benefited her in many ways. "Networking is extremely important to me.  Every job I've gotten is as a result of connections made through networking.  Leadership Macomb provided me an opportunity to network with individuals throughout the County.  It also gives you a foundation of knowledge about the county and access to people you might not otherwise cross paths with."

We wish Melanie the best of luck with her new venture!  For more information about The Adcraft Club of Detroit, check out adcraft.org
