Leadership Macomb XIII
Business, Manufacturing & Technology Day
Business, Manufacturing & Technology Day was held on March 17th. Anderson, Eckstein & Westrick, Inc. sponsored the day. The objectives for the day were to understand current local, regional, and national economic opportunities and challenges; and to identify and understand future growth industries in Macomb County.
The morning session took place at Macomb Community College's Professional Development Center at the University Center. Kim Hodge of Time Bank started the day informing the participants of the great opportunity her organization provides to those who are looking to barter their time. Xuan Liu, Data Center Manager, SEMCOG, followed with an insightful discussion regarding the economic view of our region. Don Morandini (pictured right) Deputy Director Macomb County Dept. of Planning and Economic Development, continued with a lively conversation of Macomb County's economic development initiatives. Dr. Dave Spencer, Executive Director, Macomb-Oakland University Incubator, finished with a fantastic dialogue regarding the way the business incubator helps start-up companies develop.
The morning ended with an engaging panel discussion facilitated by Roy Rose, President, Anderson, Eckstein & Westrick, Inc. and Vice President, Leadership Macomb Board of Directors. Panel members included: Glenn Pape, Regional Land Policy Educator Southeast Region, MSU Extension, Henry Schwab, Manager, Load Forecasting & Market Analysis, ITC, and Joe Tasse, CEO, St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospitals.
After lunch, the group traveled by bus to TACOM (U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command) and TARDEC (Tank-Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center) for both a fantastic and informational tour.
LM would like to thank our sponsor, Anderson, Eckstein & Westrick, Inc; our host site TACOM; and as well as our committee members, presenters, and panel members for putting on an exciting, informative, and successful program session!
Justice System Day is planned for April 21st. |
