An Exciting
Summer of Reaching Out to Thousands of Deaf People!
July 18 to
23, Deaf Missions was introduced to deaf people as we conducted outreach and shared
resources from our booth at the DeafNation World Expo and Conference in Las
Vegas. The organizers of this
event said this was the largest gathering of deaf people ever, with at least
15,000, maybe as many as 20,000, people from around the world gathered
there! Then, during
the last week of July, we hosted our annual Bible Camp for the Deaf at Camp
Nebowa in Onawa, Iowa. Throughout
these tremendous outreach opportunities, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was
shared. And praise God, deaf
people responded as they repented of their sins, believed in Jesus as their
Lord and personal Savior, made commitments to follow Him and be baptized in
Him. Now, they are being
encouraged as they mature in Christ through their local church/ministry and our
valuable life-changing resources. Thank you
for your prayers and financial support! You have made and continue to make an eternal impact on the lives of
deaf people. God bless you.

New Staff
Member Mark Lowenstein
Deaf
Missions welcomes our newest staff member, Mark Lowenstein. Mark is overseeing and directing the TRAINING
and OUTREACH ministries at Deaf Missions. These ministries include our annual semester-long Extension Program for
Bible college students, various seminars and conferences, helping churches
begin and sustain ministries with deaf people, short-term international
missions trips, annual Bible Camp for the Deaf, weekly after-school Bible
classes at Iowa School for the Deaf, and Bible correspondence courses for deaf
people. We are very
excited to announce that, under Mark's guidance, Deaf Missions will launch a
new full-time training program in the fall of 2011 for people interested in intensive
training to become preachers, evangelists and missionaries working among deaf
people. Be sure to watch for more
information about this new training program in upcoming eNews. Welcome

Sit at the Lord's Feet
by
Chad Entinger
I
personally find this story in Luke 10:38-42 (NIV) quite fascinating: "As
Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman
named Martha opened her home to him.
She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to
what he said. But Martha was
distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and
asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by
myself? Tell her to help me!" (Read More)
