America's Best Karate
Great job and congratulations to all who tested in April. We are very proud of you.
Our next Black Belt Training Seminar is on Saturday, May 21st. This is our Boxing Seminar taught by Golden Glove Champion, Mr. James!! He will cover various basics one needs to know and practice in the level 1 seminar as well as mulitple combinations. In our level 2 seminar, everyone will get to apply their skills in a boxing match with instructors.
Level 1 from 12:30 - 1:30pm
$49 (Black Belt Club Members are FREE)
Level 2 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm
$20 for all participants (must complete level 1 to attend level 2)
Boot Camp! Boot Camp! Boot Camp!
We have a boot camp class running Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 am and Saturdays at 8:45 am. Anyone with fitness goals or wants a good workout, please stop by the front desk for more information. This is a fast paced, high energy class that anyone of any fitness level can benefit from.
Students and Parents- We have a few openings in our Summer Karate Training Camps still available. We run 3 weeks during summer. June 20th-24th, July 25th-29th and August 22nd-26th. These camps do wonders for developing a students current curriculum and skills. As a matter of fact, one week of camp is equivalent to 25 classes. If you are planning on going on vacation, can't attend as many classes as usual or would like to see a little more development in your martial arts then these are the camp for you! We'll have a special overnight option on Thursdays where students can bring their sleeping bags and pillow and stay over with us in the gym! We'll do a water day, self-defense day, flips and tricks day, weapons day and an obstacle course day!

Black Belt Club Member Camp Prices:
Single Week: $230.00
All three weeks: $570.00 (if registered and paid in full by 5/31/11)
Basic Members: Single Week: $275.00
All three weeks: $675.00 (if registered and paid in full by 5/31/11)
Parents and Spectators: Please observe the rules on the karate doors. It is important to keep our school clean and noise free. We appreciate you setting a good example for the students!
Next testing is on May 27th for Central Point Academy and June 10th for the North Academy. An instructor will let you know if you are eligible for a testing. Practice hard!
WOMENS SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR IS FULL!
May 21st from 6:00pm-7:30pm we will be holding this workshop. It is a free of charge workshop but donations are more than welcome and will be directed to the Dunn House of Medford. We encourage friend participation and Mother/Daughter participation. Watch for our next self defense seminar coming soon!

Only students entering Kindergarten OR who will not be returning next year will be wearing a cap and gown and receiving a diploma.
All students who are enrolled in these classes at these times will be able to participate in the ceremony.
Class will resume after the graduation - we will be having a party and parents can pick up their child at the regular time.
A big THANK YOU to Jeff Rumelhart for creating the beautiful flower displays in the barrels at ABK's front doors - WE LOVE THEM!!!

Kindergarten/1st Grade
WE are expanding! Starting September, 2011, ABK is adding 2nd and 3rd Grades. The small karate room upstairs next to the dance room, will be transformed into a second classroom. Another teacher, Lindsey, has been hired and will be a great asset to our program. If you are interested, please visit the front desk.
May 9th - Regular School Day for ABK Kindergarten/1st Grade.
May 30th - ABK will be closed for Memorial Day.
May 9-13 - Speeches are here again. Your child will be talking about their favorite toy. They will need to bring in their toy and explain what it is, where they got it, and why it is their favorite. Here are the dates and when your child is doing there speech:
