Summer time at ABK is full of special events, camps, open swim and open gym.  Check out our Website Calendar.  It will let you know when these events are happening and if open gym or open swim times have changed due to a special event. 

 

 

Pre-registration for Fall (Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade and Afterschool Care) is filling up fast.  Registration forms are available on our website or at the front desk.  A deposit will hold your spot for this upcoming fall.

July 5th-10th Swim with Clothes Week

(really this time...I promise.)
Our goal is to offer as many real life experiences for your child through our swim lesson program.  All swimmers in Dolphin Classes, Shark Classes and the Swim Team Prep will need to bring a long pair of pants, and a shirt or sweatshirt to wear OVER their swim suits. We will be working on skills such as survival floating, swimming and exiting the water with clothes on, as well as boating safety.
 
July 24th- All Comers Swim Meet  Ages 6-12
Here's your chance to swim like Michael Phelps!
Cost $10 for members, $15 for non-members (register at the front desk!)
You will need a swim suit, goggles, a towel and a smile
 
August 28th Kids Triathlon
Come Bike, Swim and Run!  Ages 6-12
Cost $15 for members, $20 for non-members (register at the front desk!)
You will need a bike, helmet and other protective gear, sunscreen, goggles, swim suit, towel and running shoes! Everyone participating will receive an award!

Attention parents and students! America's Best Karate North Academy will be closed July 5th, 6th and 7th due to the Martial Arts SuperShow. Classes will resume on the 8th.  This is an event that is dedicated to helping develop better instructors in the fields of lesson plans, safety, child development and curriculum improvement. If you have any questions please see Mr. O'Connor.
 
Our next Black Belt Club Seminar is "Choreographed Forms" on July 17th. This seminar is dedicated to fast paced and high intensity forms work introducing techniques used on the competitive sport martial arts circuit. All students will learn a form in which they will perform together. In the level 2 seminar, students will expand the routine and put it to a piece of music!

Level 2 1:30-2:30 All Participants $20.00 (Must participate in Level 1 to take Level 2 seminar)
 
There is still room in the July and August Karate Camps. If you are going on vacation or your child may miss a few classes during one of these months, camps are a great way to brush up on curriculum and burn off that excess energy!
 
Parents: Anytime your child is testing, please ensure Intent to Promote Forms are completed and turned in by the day of testing at the latest! Thank you.
