Pear Blossom Parade is on April 10th. Come out and walk the parade with ABK! Come out wearing any black or white shirt. We have a few remaining original ABK white tshirts, sizes child medium and child small, available for $10.00. These shirts are located on a display table by the karate studio. Flips Gymnastics and Karate shirts (many size options) are available by the front desk - prices vary. No sign up this year - look for the information flyer at the front desk!
Come support our girls gymnastics team at ABK's "Spring Fling" meet. Here at ABK on April 10th 12:00-6:00pm. (Admission fee for individual and discounted admission for families.)

April 10th ABK Home Meet "Spring Fling Classic" 12pm Come support our girls gymnastics team at our very own meet here at ABK! Admission fee for individuals and for families.
April 21st Preschool Open Gym 11:30-12:30pm $5/members $10/non-members. Come out and let your little ones (walking to 5 year old) spend an hour of jumping, playing, and let them show off their gymnastics skills!
April 23rd PNO "Hollywood" 7:00-11:00pm Be a star and come join ABK for pizza, snacks, drinks, open gym, games, activities, and more!
April 26 - May 1 GEW, Gymnastics Evaluation Week Don't miss class this week! Students who are eligible for advancing to the next level will be evaluated this week! |

Pear Blossom Parade with ABK on April 10th Don'tforget to sign up with Melinda or Molly to walk in the parade with ABK . Talk with your child's coach, teacher or instructor on what color of shirt your child should be wearing to represent ABK at Pear Blossom. If you can't walk in the parade stop by ABK that day to check out the gymnastic's meet and support our ABK team girls. The meet is from 12:30 to 6:00pm.
April 12th No school for ASC Camp available. (America's Best School has regular class this day.)
April 26th is conference day for Kindergarten and 1st grade sign up in the classroom for a 15 minute conference with Mrs. Melinda. There will be camp offered on this day as well for all students.

 ***Parents: We are having parents come into class regularly 15-20 minutes before class is over. Please drop off and pick up students within the first and last 10 minutes of preschool to limit the disruption to class.
Please dress students accordingly as we are going to be going to play outside on the playground for recess, weather permitting.
On Thursday April 29th and Friday April 30th, there is NO SCHOOL because of conferences.

 Cheer Clinic: Saturday April 17th 10:00-12:30 Ages 4-12 $25 Includes special pom poms! Performance at 12:30. Participants will be invited to participate in the Boatnik parade in May!
Are you interested in joining a competitive cheer team? April/May Skills classes: Cheer Power tumbling, Cheer Technique, Flight School, & Stunting classes.
Cheer Team Placements: Saturday May 22nd 11-12:30 Ages 4-18 Boys and Girls $25- upon joining team this fee will go towards your commitment fee. Everyone makes a team- No experience required! Teams start again in June. * Competitive teams ages 4-18 ** Rec teams: Ages 6-12
Summer Cheer Camp: July 5th-9th and August 2nd-6th. 12-3pm Ages 5-12 $79/week Free Camp T-shirt! Spend the week learning chants, dances, stunts, jumps and tumbling, meet new friends and have a great time! All July camp participants will be invited to perform with us at the Children's Festival & Jackson County Fair! Sign up now, space is limited!

EVENT LOCATION: SOUTH ACADEMY
April 10th, Ninja Camp! Come share a fun night with your karate buddies and instructors. Experience some cool martial art weapons, catch a karate movie, karate games (maybe some strobe light belt tag) and pizza. Ninja camp is a chance to cut loose and have some great fun. We're camping out on the mats so bring your sleeping bag and a pillow (No scary stories. They keep Mr. Rumelhart awake). Female staff will be on-site for female students attending the camp. No uniform is necessary but bring your belt!!!
April 30th next testing. The revised schedule for testing in 2010 and a good part of 2011 is out. Pick up a revised schedule the next time you're at the academy.

EVENT LOCATION: NORTH ACADEMY
April 17, Ninja Camp Activities include making and shooting your own blowgun, ninja star throwing, sword work, learning stealth tactics, pizza and a movie. Ninja Camp is a sleepover so make sure you pack your sleeping bag and pillow. You will take home your blowgun, sword, and rubberized ninja star. Sign in is at 3:00pm Saturday, Apri l17 and pick-up is 8:30am sharp on Sunday. $89 will ensure you a spot in the camp and all your gear. Remember - Black Belt Club Members receive their 15% off! Sign-up deadline is April 9th so make sure you reserve your spot soon!!
April 23rd, Testing day. All classes are cancelled on this day. Good luck to all eligible students!
April 24th, "Black Belt Club" seminar, Staff Sparring Seminar will be held at the North Academy. We'll work some blocks and combinations with you and give you the opportunity to whoop up on your instructors with some padded staffs. The level 2 seminar will be free sparring with the skills we work during the level 1 seminar. Sparring gear (If you have it) should be brought to this seminar. Putting your training to work with a weapon is always a blast so plan on attending the level 2 seminar for only $20. Sign up as soon as you can!
May 1st, 12:30-2:30pm, GoPro Sparring Clinic for those who pre-purchased the curriculum DVD will be held at the North Academy. Cost of the DVD is $59. "Black Belt Club" members pay $49. A great tool for retaining all of your curriculum! DVD's are in the replication process. Distribution will be later then originally planned but we should see them by April 10th. The DVD covers all curriculum a student needs from White to Black Belt. For those who have purchased their DVD by March 31st, our special "Go-Pro" seminar has been set for May 1st from 12:30pm-2:30pm (please allow a little extra time as this seminar could run a little over). In our "Go-Pro" seminar, the instructors will be strapping video camera's to their heads and sparring with the students. At the end of the seminar, over pizza and soda, we will be viewing the video so that the students can get a first hand look at their own techniques! A great way to polish up your sparring!
May 15th, "BLACK BELT TEST". No classes on this Saturday. The twelve candidates have just begun their official conditioning. It should prove to be another great test at America's Best Karate. We encourage all students and parents of the Academies to come and support these martial artists on that day. The curriculum, sparring, board breaking and essay reading portion is set for 1:00pm on May 15th. All classes will be cancelled on this day. Wish these students well and plan on being there for the test to support their efforts. South site students participating are Ben DeGraw and Ben Harris.
Summer Karate camps are coming! Get onboard quickly. They'll fill up fast! June 21st.-25th / July 19th.-23rd. / August 16th.-20th. Spring Karate camp was a blast for all who attended and created an opportunity for some to test up early. A week of karate camp can be a great opportunity to polish your curriculum and meet some new karate friends.
EVENT LOCATION: CENTRAL POINT ACADEMY
The Central Point Academy has now been open for three months! Classes are going great, and its been a lot of fun to see the new school flourish. A class schedule is available in the karate tab at abkfun.com. We encourage everyone to come down and say hello, and please remember, Black Belt Club members receive the ability to train at any of our three locations.
April 9th - next testing from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
April 8th is adult testing at 7:45 pm, right after class.
