Long before there were camera cell phones and twitter, art has been a way of witnessing, communicating, and recording world events, political and environmental changes, atrocities, and upheaval. Art has been a mode of expression for propaganda, protest, satire, etc. With the tenth anniversary of 9/11 all of us are naturally inclined to pause and reflect on the changes and unrest in the world. Under the premise that we all have common ground beneath our feet but many points of view, this exhibit explores how contemporary artists address different issues of the day. Curators: Kathy Yacoe Skura and Luis Perelman |
